(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Juan Soto (+390)

Juan Soto is doing all he can to guide the Mets to the playoffs. The outfielder has been tearing it up over the last 30 days of play, slashing .340/.439/.718 with 11 home runs and 28 RBI. An elite combination of plate discipline and power paints Soto as a nightmare for pitchers. He ranks among the top 10 pros in chase rate (15.8%) and hard-hit rate (55.7%). Let’s not forget that Soto has also logged the fourth-highest road OPS in the league (.965).

Chicago’s Shota Imanaga will be on the mound to battle Soto at Wrigley Field on Thursday. The Japanese southpaw has surrendered a homer in each of his past eight starts. Half of those outings included multiple blasts allowed. Imanaga checks in outside of the top 300 pitchers in barrel rate (11%) and has yielded a .550 slugging rate on his four-seam fastball. Expect Soto to sit on a heater and smash it deep into the night.

Cody Bellinger (+430)

The Yankees have a shot to win the American League East this weekend. The No. 1 seed in the American League could come with that as well. Thursday’s series finale against the White Sox presents a chance for the Bronx Bombers to tee off in front of the home crowd. After all, Chicago’s Davis Martin has been tagged for a home run in nine of his previous 15 starts, and he has recorded a disappointing 4.90 ERA in 13 career September performances.

Cody Bellinger has been a consistent producer in Yankee Stadium this campaign. The former MVP has posted a .297/.356/.549 slash line to go with 18 homers and a team-high 54 RBI across 76 home contests. It makes sense as the short porch in right field does wonders for pull-heavy lefties like him. Keep in mind Bellinger is one of only two New York batters that has gotten the best of Martin before. He crushed a cutter 396 feet against him for a dinger on August 28th.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+420) & George Springer (+360)

The other squad vying for the American League East title is the Blue Jays. Toronto will finish a series versus the Red Sox in a clash with right-hander Brayan Bello on Thursday. Bello has had some struggles at Rogers Centre, registering a 4.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through four starts. Note that the 26-year-old hurler has conceded a 1.026 OPS when the opponent is ahead in the count during his career. A patient approach will go a long way for the Blue Jays.

Two names stick out in this spot. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 11-for-27 with two home runs facing Bello and sports the fifth-highest hard-hit rate among MLB first basemen (50.6%). Meanwhile, George Springer is 10-for-28 with one homer off Bello and boasts the eighth-highest launch angle sweet-spot percentage in the Majors (41.4%). Those in search of more bang for their buck can parlay both Toronto bats to go yard at +1874 odds.
