MLB Odds & Picks: Dodgers, White Sox, Tigers (Thursday)

Summer is officially here, and the MLB landscape is heating up. Let's look at interesting matchups for tonight.

Thursday’s Best MLB Bets

Los Angeles Dodgers (-210) at Colorado Rockies (+176) | O/U 12.5 (-115/-105)

The Dodgers have recovered since being swept by the Giants and have won five of their last seven. Still, it doesn't look like they'll run away with the National League West like in 2022, as there are more competitive teams in that division this season. Emmet Sheehan has made an impact early in his MLB career and has allowed just two earned in his first 12 innings.

Colorado is not one of those teams in contention in the NL West. They've dropped ten of their last 12, which includes a 25-1 loss last weekend to the Angels. Chase Anderson started that epic beatdown by allowing nine earned in 2.2 innings and has allowed 16 runs in his last 5.2 innings.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-137)

Chicago White Sox (+122) at Los Angeles Angels (-144) | O/U 9.5 (+100/-122)

The Angels have a chance of winning this four-game series tonight. Los Angeles has to be excited that Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout have been hot, especially with Ohtani’s three home runs in this series. It has not been the best month for Patrick Sandoval, with a 6.20 ERA and the Angels being just 1-3 in his starts.

The White Sox continue to be an awful team, losing 11 of their last 17. But the mind-blowing fact is that, due to how bad the American League Central is overall, the White Sox are fewer games out of first in their division than the Angels are in the American League West. It's been a tough year for Lance Lynn; none of his wins are against a team over .500, and he was previously shelved by the Halos, allowing eight earned in four innings.

Pick: Over 9.5 (+100)

Detroit Tigers (+185) at Texas Rangers (-215) | O/U 9.5 (+100/-122)

The Tigers managed to grab the first win of this series, but it’s been all Texas since, as they've won the last two games by a combined score of 18-5. This offense is nothing new for the Rangers. The team leads the league in runs scored per game and is second in home run ratio. Jon Gray has been fantastic in all but one start recently and has a 1.97 ERA in his last eight starts.

However, as previously mentioned, the AL Central is so bad that although the Tigers are 11 games under .500, they're only five games out of first. Detroit finally won in Reese Olson's last two starts, but those were against the Twins and Royals. The only start where Olson was shelved came against the Braves, one of the top offenses next to the Rangers.
