Tuesday's Best MLB Picks & Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Washington Nationals (+151) at New York Yankees (-185) | O/U 9.0 (-116/-105)

The Yankees have been very inconsistent as of late. They've been able to beat up on bad teams like the Cardinals and Twins, but lost two of three to the Red Sox, who knocked the Yankees down to third place in the American League East. They do hold a Wild Card spot, so if they can get in, they will have the chance to make a charge to another World Series.

Luis Gil had a rough first start to a season that started in August due to a lat strain. After allowing five earned runs in his initial start, he has been better, with a 2.30 ERA in his last three. The most concerning thing is his 15.3% walk rate to start the year.

That might not be as big a factor for a Nationals team that is 27th in walks per game (2.87). However, they are a team that makes contact and hits the ball well, and Gil does not have much swing and miss stuff, so he could get knocked around a little.

Yankees bats should stay hot against MacKenzie Gore, who has a 4.11 ERA, and a Nats bullpen that has a league-worst 5.60 ERA.

Pick: Over 9.0 Runs (-116)

Atlanta Braves (-132) at Miami Marlins (-185) | O/U 8.0 (-108/-112)

The Braves have been the king of inconsistency this season, and it has resulted in an underwhelming campaign that will likely see them miss the playoffs. It's too bad because the team has been great offensively since the All-Star break, as their 5.2 runs per game ranks third.

As usual, the Braves are one of the more disciplined teams in the league with the third-best walk rate this season (9.4%), but that bumps to 10.6% in the second half, which leads the league. That helps a lot as they face Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara, whose 2025 season has been nothing short of disastrous. He continues to struggle and has allowed 24 earned runs in his last 26 innings. Alcantara has also been susceptible to giving Atlanta free passes, allowing three or more walks in three of his last four starts against them.

Pick: Braves Moneyline (-132)
