Monday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Ryan Pepiot Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-140)

For the first time in Kevin Cash’s era, the Rays are out of contention. A lot of it was due to injuries; the best pitchers in their rotation, most notably Shane McClanahan, were not on the field, and the team became sellers at the trade deadline. Instead, they will try to be spoilers as they play a few teams vying for a playoff spot.

That includes the Mariners, who had a significant lead in the American League West but squandered it away, resulting in their manager being fired. Their problem all season is offense, as they are last in batting average and strikeout percentage.

That’s why Ryan Pepiot is a good pick. He has a solid 26.2% strikeout rate and fanned eight in his last start against the Mariners in June.

Jameson Taillon Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-110)

The Cubs and Pirates had their chances to be playoff teams, but neither could remain consistent and fell out of contention.

Chicago brought in Jameson Taillon a couple of seasons ago to solidify the rotation. He has been better this season with a 3.77 ERA, but he's on a bit of a slide. He's coming in with a 7.30 ERA in his last three starts. He's seen the Pirates already this year and allowed three earned runs in 4.2 innings.

    Aaron Judge 1+ RBI (-130)

The Yankees are in a tight race for the American League East title, so every game will be important going forward. However, the pitching has been inconsistent in the second half of the year, so they cannot depend on that to make the playoffs.

They can depend on Aaron Judge, as he has stamped his ticket to another MVP. He is on another heater with seven home runs and 11 RBI over his last six games. Today, he'll face Mitchell Parker, who has allowed three home runs over his previous three starts, so take Judge to help put one across the board.
