Parker Messick Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-138)

Cleveland Guardians LHP Parker Messick takes the ball on Monday night against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. It’s a tough matchup for Messick, as the Rays are 4-1 vs. LHP this season. However, the southpaw has been tremendous for the upstart Guardians, who always seem to be able to do it with mirrors, squeezing the most talent out of its economically-challenged roster.

Messick is 3-0 with a 1.76 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 29 strikeouts across five starts, and he has ended up going at least six innings in three of his outings. He has managed to go five or fewer innings in two of his three home starts, so that could give bettors some pause here. However, he has allowed three or fewer runs in all five of his starts, and he hasn’t allowed a homer since April 5, going three straight outings without a long ball. He has staying power, and he should be able to record a quality start here.

Dustin May Under 15.5 Outs Recorded (-130)

On the flip side of the prop above, let’s go low on the total outs recorded by St. Louis Cardinals RHP Dustin May. He has allowed just three earned runs in 17.1 IP in the past three outings, with one single run given up in each of the past three starts. However, facing the red-hot Bucs is going to test all of those streaks.

The Pirates have plated five or more runs in seven of the past 10 games, averaging 4.7 runs per game in the 10-game span. Look for the Pirates to knock May around, and he won’t get past five innings of work in this series opener between divisional rivals.

Aaron Judge 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-170)

New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge smacked a solo home run on his 34th birthday, his 10th homer of the season, in Sunday’s victory in Houston. It was just his only hit in nine at-bats, but it should be the big hit he needs to get going.

Judge has been getting on base a lot lately, too, despite a subpar .230 batting average. He has two or more walks in four of the past six games, and he has scored at least one run in five of the past eight games, totaling six runs. The combination of runs scored, occasional RBIs and hits, he should be able to make some noise against Texas Rangers RHP Jack Leiter in Monday’s series opener.

Max Muncy 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-145)

Another offensive player we’ll key on is Dodgers 3B Max Muncy. Be careful, though, as he missed Sunday’s game due to illness, so circle back around and just double-check he is not an omission from the lineup.

If Muncy does play, he is a strong option against Miami Marlins RHP Chris Paddack, who is 0-4 with a 6.38 ERA and 1.54 WHIP so far this season. Muncy is 4-for-15 (.267) with two doubles, two solo homers, and a .389 on-base percentage with an .800 slugging percentage and 1.189 OPS against Paddack, mostly during the pitcher’s time with the San Diego Padres. As long as Muncy is well, and able to play, expect big things.
