Another weekend, another busy Saturday of MLB action. Sportsbooks have betting lines for every game, of course. But if you are anything like me, you prefer MLB player props over picking winners, betting the run line or on the total. With 15 games, there are certainly plenty of options.
There are, of course, lots of great ones, but the following are my favorite player props for Saturday, May 9th.

Saturday’s Best MLB Player Props
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Cam Schlittler Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-132)
It is really tempting to go with the over because of the plus-money odds, as Cam Schlittler is a solid strikeout pitcher. He only had four in his last outing and went under this mark in two of his last three outings, but he has gone over it in six out of eight starts this season.
However, the Brewers don't strike out a lot. In the last week, Milwaukee hitters have struck out a league-low 32 times in 168 at-bats over five games. For the season, they have the third-lowest strikeout total with 282.
Carson Benge 2+ Total Bases (+120)
Carson Benge is hitting just .211 with 35 games under his belt. But he has hit .316 this month in 19 at-bats (six hits) across seven games. Of his six hits, four went for extra bases (three doubles and a home run). I like the chances of someone swinging the bat as well as he is to record two or more total bases against Merrill Kelly, who has a 2.32 WHIP across four starts (29 hits, including six home runs).
Clay Holmes Over 17.5 Outs (-108)
Clay Holmes has gone over this mark in his last three games and in four of his seven starts this season. He's been hard to get on base against (0.98 WHIP) as well as record hits off of (.181 opponent batting average). Against an Arizona team hitting .171 over the last week, I love Holmes’ chances of recording over 17.5 outs.
Kyle Tucker 2+ Total Bases (+130)
Kyle Tucker has gotten off to a slow start in Los Angeles, hitting .211 in five games in March, but has been steadily improving. He hit .247 in April with 24 hits in 97 at-bats and has been doing even better seven games into May (.308, 8-25). He has hit safely in six of his seven games this month, with multiple hits in two and an extra-base hit in four.
Atlanta starter Spencer Strider only has one start under his belt this season, and it wasn't a good one - four hits and one home run allowed in 3.1 innings. His WHIP (2.72) is a little inflated, but Tucker is a great hitter who is getting more comfortable in his new home with each passing game. He's got as good a shot as anyone to record two or more bases today.
