Sunday's Top MLB Player Props & Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Cristopher Sanchez Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+100)
Consistency is what bettors should be looking for in the player prop department. Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sanchez has impressed with a 37.2% chase rate and 32.1% whiff rate through eight starts.
Those are higher marks than he posted in 2025, when he finished second in National League Cy Young voting. The Dominican left-hander has also posted a dominant 2.58 ERA and 1.01 WHIP at Citizens Bank Park in his career (64 appearances).
Target Sanchez’s strikeout prop on Sunday. He is confusing batters with ease, racking up at least eight strikeouts in six of his last 11 outings. The Rockies chase pitches at a higher rate than any other MLB squad (35%) and have logged the most strikeouts among National League offenses (391).
An opposing pitcher has recorded double-digit strikeouts against Colorado four times this campaign. That’s an enticing longshot option for Sanchez at +370 odds.
Walker Buehler Under 14.5 Outs Recorded (+129)
Walker Buehler was called upon to fill a gap in San Diego’s starting rotation. The Kentucky native has been knocked around in his seven starts, registering a lackluster 5.64 ERA and 1.52 WHIP (30.1 innings).
It’s worth noting that Buehler completed five innings in just three of those seven starts and never threw more than 92 pitches. Poor results combined with a reliable Padres bullpen (3.59 ERA) have led to a short leash for Buehler.
The Cardinals are building momentum at the plate. St. Louis checks in as a top-five MLB offense in hits (121), runs (70) and OPS (.762) across the last 15 days. Not only that, but Manager Oliver Marmol’s roster sports the fifth-highest on-base percentage in leadoff at-bats (.334).
Immediate threats on the base paths can overwhelm even the best arms. Trust the Cardinals to chase the opposing starter before the fifth inning ends for the fourth time this week.
Mike Trout to Hit a Home Run (+285)
Injuries have kept Mike Trout from being in top form during the past few years. He is healthy in 2026, though, and firing on all cylinders.
The three-time MVP is barreling baseballs at the third-highest rate (23.7%) and chasing pitches at the eighth-lowest rate (17.7%) in the league. Staying patient and waiting for the right pitch has helped Trout tally an Angels-high 11 home runs to go with five doubles through his first 39 games.
Up next for Trout is a showdown with Toronto’s Eric Lauer. The veteran southpaw is expected to follow an opener and work in a bulk relief role on Sunday. Lauer has struggled to limit the long ball so far, surrendering a homer in six of his seven appearances.
Take note that Lauer has posted a sky-high 39.4% fly-ball rate as well, and recently conceded a blast to Trout in a 7-3 Angels victory on April 22nd. Bank on history repeating itself.
