Saturday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Predictions
At 4:10 p.m. ET, the Milwaukee Brewers host the Colorado Rockies for the middle contest of a three-game set at American Family Field. The Brewers won a high-scoring 10-6 victory in the series opener on Friday. Milwaukee has won seven of its past eight games, and it turns to right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester to keep up the winning ways.
Priester has posted a 5-2 record, 3.68 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 71 innings in 10 starts and four relief appearances, and he has a 6.5 K/9 ratio. The Rockies continue to lead the majors with 806 strikeouts across 82 games, or 9.83 strikeouts per game as a team at the plate. Look for Priester to record more than five punchouts.
Also in the Rockies-Brewers matchup, Brice Turang is worth playing as he looks to push his hitting streak to 12 games. In Friday’s series opener, Turang went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, two runs scored and two RBI to push his batting average to .283. It wasn’t all great, as he did ground into a double play, too.
However, during his 11-game hitting streak, Turang has collected two or more hits in five of the past six games, raising his average from .268 to .283 just since June 20th. He is 18-for-41 (.439) since June 13th, and he has driven in seven runs in the past six games.
Sticking with the Colorado-Milwaukee game, we’ll continue to pick on the poor, old Rockies. Antonio Senzatela has pitched a little better lately, but he still has a 6.48 ERA and 1.90 WHIP on the season.
On the road, Senzatela has allowed 21 earned runs and 54 hits with six homers and a .378 opponents’ batting average across 32.2 innings in seven starts. Look for Milwaukee to get off to a quick start against the Rockies, so we should have at least one run scored in the first inning.
In another game with a first pitch at 4:10 p.m. ET, the Miami Marlins and Arizona Diamondbacks square off in Phoenix. The Diamondbacks will look to get off to a quick start against Marlins righty Sandy Alcantara, who has managed a 4-8 record, 6.69 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 74 innings in 15 starts. He has served up 10 homers, has a career-worst .761 opponent OPS and a dismal .427 opponents’ slugging rate.
While Brandon Pfaadt has managed an impressive 8-5 record, he has a dismal 5.49 ERA and a so-so 1.39 WHIP. Pfaadt has a much better 4.08 ERA at home, but teams are also hitting .296 against him at Chase Field. We should get at least one first-inning run with these very giving pitchers on the bump.
With a demon play at PrizePicks, it can be a bit harder to win, but your lineup qualifies for a much better payout, too.
Ransy Vasquez is facing a Cincinnati Reds team tied for 11th with 277 walks. On the flip side, the San Diego right-handed starting pitcher has issued three or more free passes in two of his five starts in June, and he has allowed three or more walks in five of his eight starts on the road. In eight road outings, he has allowed 21 walks to just 20 strikeouts across 37 innings.
