Saturday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
Here are the best PrizePicks plays for today’s action.
Kyle Bradish/Bailey Ober Over 10.5 Strikeouts
This pitching combo doesn’t strike fear into the hearts of many when it comes to strikeouts but give me any pitcher against the Twins, and I’m willing to take the risk.

Saturday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
Here are the best PrizePicks plays for today’s action.
Kyle Bradish/Bailey Ober Over 10.5 Strikeouts
This pitching combo doesn’t strike fear into the hearts of many when it comes to strikeouts but give me any pitcher against the Twins, and I’m willing to take the risk.
Bradish has a 38.5% K-rate against current Twins batters, and Minnesota is striking out, on average, 1o.2 times per game. I would go with his strikeouts alone, but I love the combo here.
Ober’s K/9 is 8.35, though this number jumps to 10 in away games, and he has averaged six Ks per game over his last six starts. While Baltimore isn’t quite the free-swinging strikeout machine that Minnesota is, we only need a few from Ober to sail past this total, given what Bradish should be able to get.
J.D. Martinez Over 1.5 Total Bases
Daniel Lynch is pitching for the Royals, and he seems like the type of pitcher you would create in a lab for J.D. Martinez to have success against.
For his career, Martinez has a .303 batting average with a .950 OPS versus Southpaws, with 90 of his 301 homers coming against them. He is 1-for-3 against Lynch with a double, but his xSLG is 1.177, which is the number I’m particularly interested in.
Meanwhile, Lynch has been atrocious at home this season, with a 6.23 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in Kansas City versus a 1.89/1.00 split on the road. He gives up 2.1 home runs per game there as well, and while righties have a higher batting average against him, all six of the homers he has given up were to right-handed hitters.
Let’s roll with J.D. to get at least a double today.
Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases
Sure, maybe today is the day he breaks his streak. He can’t possibly continue to surpass this number day in and day out for the rest of the season. As you can see in the chart, he’s put up three duds in the last 15 games, so the fallibility is in there… Somewhere.
But here is the thing. Let’s remove the recency bias or the bias that because the coin has flipped to heads six straight times that it must be “due” to land on tails.
Shohei Ohtani is facing Ryne Nelson. Ryne Nelson struggles against left-handed batters, with seven of the 10 home runs he’s allowed coming against them. Shohei Ohtani seems like he might be on a quest to break every record he hasn’t broken, and he has 30 home runs with 80 games left to play. He also has 50 extra-base hits so far this year.
The BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet has his projection to be over three total bases. Let’s not overthink this.
