Things did not go ideally to close out last weekend, and we concluded with a 1-2 run on Sunday. David Peterson flew past his strikeout total, and Lenyn Sosa refused to go down via the strikeout himself. Our saving grace was Fernando Tatis Jr., who did not even start the game but came in with a clutch pinch-hit home run in the later innings.
We have just a few weekends left to try to make some cold hard cash and no better time to do so than on the first day of Autumn. I have already determined I will be reverting back to my bread and butter of hammering some "overs." Let's get to it.

Saturday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Players Predictions
Current Overall PrizePicks Record: 63-48-4
Jared Jones Over 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
The rise and fall of rookie pitcher Jared Jones may be one that the analysts and baseball nerds look at for the next hundred years. Jones unexpectedly joined the majors this year in dominating fashion, and he was mowing down hitters with minimal resistance across his first five or six starts.
Teams certainly made adjustments thereafter, and the 23-year-old faltered for a bit from the middle of May and beyond in which he started allowing an average of 5.2 hits per game and his strikeout numbers concurrently dipped. That said, we have seen the capability of Jones when his game is on, and he has still been able to compile 11 games of six or more punchouts in 2024.
Jones is facing the Reds on Saturday and Cincinnati is currently ranked sixth worst in the MLB in team hitter strikeouts per game. They have several players that strike out a lot by default, and no one on the Reds has seen Jones to this point of his career. He is in line for one of his impressive shutdown performances if all goes well on Saturday afternoon.
Shohei Ohtani Over 10.5 Hitter Fantasy Score
I am not really sure how we cannot jump on an Ohtani line given his unprecedented run of late and across the 2024 season as a whole. Everyone knows what he did a couple of nights ago, joining (creating) the Major League Baseball 50/50 club to put a cap on what should be another unanimous MVP for the 30-year-old. He also followed up history by delivering again on Friday night, providing both home run and stolen base number 51 in a series opener against Colorado.
On Saturday, the scorching bat of Ohtani will have the pleasure of facing off against Rockies' starter Cal Quantrill. Ohtani is 4-for-12 (.333) against Quantrill in his career with some counting RBIs and walks already. Quantrill has also had a pretty pitiful year, emphasized by his 4.68 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. He has already allowed seven earned runs across 9 1/3 innings faced against the Dodgers this season.
In my opinion, there is no real difference in Shohei Ohtani's hitter fantasy line whether it is at 10.5, 8.5, or 4.5 at this point. When he delivers, he delivers with huge scoring numbers in the twenties, or as we saw on Thursday, the eighties. Time to have some fun with one of the best to ever do it.
Freddie Freeman Over 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score
After scouring the PrizePicks app for options, the top conclusion I came up with was diving back into the Dodgers for what should be a fun one in Los Angeles later today. A bit unnoticed due to his counterpart in Ohtani's insurgence of late, Freddie Freeman has also had a hot bat in recent days. He also loves seeing Cal Quantrill pitching, as the veteran first baseman is 6-for-12 (.500) with a pair of doubles, a triple, and three walks against him all time.
Freeman has the privilege of batting behind both Ohtani and Mookie Betts, which always offers ample opportunity for run producing and general success. It is quite hard to imagine that he doesn't get there on a day where he is facing one of his favorite opposing pitchers on the highest-slated game total across the league.
