Last Sunday was an up-and-down affair on the picks front, in a bit of a disappointment overall given the possibilities.
Justin Turner came through by not striking out, and Kyle Muller pushed by giving up five hits across just four innings pitched. The pick we missed was Sandy Alcantara's over on 101.5 pitches thrown, as he hurled an uber-efficient eight innings in just 94 pitches. That one I believed was a lock. Oh well, live and learn. Onto the next ones.

Saturday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
Overall record: 45-39-4
The Blue Jays ace is in prime position for a massive output against the lowly Royals on Saturday, and expectations should fall in line with a huge strikeout total. Over the last three games, Kansas City ranks third-worst in the MLB, averaging 10.67 team strikeouts per game.
Kevin Gausman remains in contention for the AL Cy Young award, and he has struck out hitters at a high clip all season long. The 32-year-old veteran ranks third in the MLB with 207 punchouts on the campaign and averages 7.6 per game. The Royals will be no match for Gausman on Saturday afternoon. Take the over with confidence.
Ke'Bryan Hayes has been a run-scoring machine of late, and he will be in prime position to tack onto his recent total facing the Braves on Saturday night. Atlanta will send southpaw Dylan Dodd and his 7.40 season ERA to the hill to face Pittsburgh.
Dodd has permitted at least three earned runs in three of his five starts this season, including surrendering five runs to the measly Detroit Tigers his last time out. Hayes, meanwhile, has scored at least one run in four straight games and in 12 of his past 15 games played. For those keeping track, that is scoring at an 80% rate! Hayes will be batting anywhere from leadoff to third for the Pirates on Saturday, and he will have a great chance at extending his scoring streak through one more day.
Boston's rookie first baseman has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past two months, and he kicked September off with a bang, rocking a .296/.367/.556 slash line with two homers and seven RBIs over just seven games played. He will face Orioles' starter Jack Flaherty for the first time on Saturday while trying to keep his hot stretch going.
Flaherty is coming off a run of rough outings, and he has not exactly been great since coming over to Baltimore at the trade deadline. He made it just 4 2/3 against the Diamondbacks his last time out, in which he allowed four earned runs on six hits. Triston Casas mashes righties when compared to his numbers against southpaws. He should slide into the middle of the Red Sox lineup on Saturday afternoon and will thrive.
