He is coming off tough outings against elite offenses, the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, but if there were ever a matchup to get him back on track, it would be facing the Reds. Cincinnati is 22nd in wRC+ (94) and 8th in K% (22.7%) against right-handed pitching. Schwellenbach has plenty of swing and miss stuff to find at least six strikeouts, as he ranks in the top 91st percentile in Swinging strike rate.
Ultimately, this comes down to finding the zone for Soriano, because the matchup is superb. He and the Halos take on Toronto, which is just 27th in wRC+ (86) when facing righties. They’re also one of the least patient squads and average the seventh fewest pitches per plate appearance. With his 97 MPH sinker, Soriano ranks in the 99th percentile in ground ball, which will be the recipe to getting quick outs against the Jays.
Taking on the White Sox is a welcomed sight for the Royals left-hander. Chicago is 23rd in wRC+ (71) and 15th in K% (23.8%) against southpaws. We just saw his teammate, Cole Ragans, fire 11 strikeouts past the White Sox across five scoreless innings a couple of days ago. Bubic is capable of racking up the Ks as well, and ranks in the 83rd percentile in CSW% among starters this season.
