It was not the best showing from yours truly on Wednesday, but let’s look to rebound for today’s games. We only have nine on tap, with three of them taking place in the afternoon. Per usual, the focus here will be on pitcher props, so let’s dive right into three of my favorites for Thursday, June 27.

Thursday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
MLB PrizePicks Record This Season: 39-37-2
Chris Sale More Than 7.5 Strikeouts
This is a lofty line for most pitchers, but Sale is unlike the majority. That funky left-handed delivery has been stifling batters for years now, and he has looked tremendous all season long. So much so that I took a shot on him to win the NL Cy Young at +1200 last week.
As for the strikeout prop, Sale rates in the top 96th percentile in K% and 98th in called-strikes+whiffs amongst all starters. Sale has recorded eight or more strikeouts in seven of his last nine starts and now draws an easy lineup to navigate taking on the White Sox. Their 24.4% K% against lefties over the past 30 days is the eighth highest.
Zack Wheeler More Than 20.5 Outs
This is another very high line reserved for the very best pitchers in the game. Wheeler undeniably belongs in that group. The ace of the Phillies staff is a workhorse and goes deeper into games than most starters. He ranks in the top 98th percentile in xERA, 88th in K%, and has gone at least seven innings in five of his last seven starts. Philadelphia will definitely give him the leash to go far into this game, seeing that they only got three innings from Spencer Turnbull yesterday.
The matchup on hand couldn’t be better for Wheeler. The Marlins are a welcomed sight for any starter these days, seeing that they are 29th in wRC+ (71) over the past 30 days. Miami is also a free-swinging team and 29th in pitches per plate appearance (3.69), so let’s take the over here.
Carlos Rodon Less Than 2.5 Earned Runs
Rodon is coming off back-to-back tough outings but should be able to find a better outcome in Toronto tonight. The Blue Jays have been one of the worst teams against lefties all season long, ranking 26th in wRC+ (83). Rodon might not have the most inspiring advanced metrics, but he has been getting it done the vast majority of the time this season. He has allowed two earned runs or less in 11 of his 16 starts.
