A very limited slate of games takes place today, but as always three picks will be found.
Here are a few MLB PrizePicks that caught my eye for Thursday, Aug. 31.

Thursday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
This season: 64-46-6
If there was any pitcher able to tame the Dodgers, Spencer Strider would be on the shortlist. He’s an NL Cy Young contender for a reason and has 8+ strikeouts in 21/26 starts this season. The flamethrowing right-hander faced the Dodgers in late May and struck out 11 batters across six innings of work. He’s currently riding a 21-inning scoreless streak, and while that may not be maintained, the strikeouts should flow as they usually do.

Braxton Garrett Over 5.5 Hits Allowed
Braxton Garrett should be fresh in Washington's mind after just facing him six days back. The Nationals tagged him for seven hits in his six innings of work last go and have been much better against lefties all season long. They have a 108 wRC+ (11th-best) and a .275 batting average (6th-best) when facing southpaws on the season.
Garrett was on a tear for a while there when his command and cutter were thriving; that's not so much the case anymore. He has allowed 6+ hits in seven of his last 10 starts. The Nationals hardly ever strike out and always put the ball in play, which gives the wager an even better chance of coming through.
Similar to the Nationals facing Garrett, Miami just saw Adon six days ago. He did well to keep the runs off the board but only struck out three across his six innings. Adon rarely commands his pitches and is under this line in 3/4 starts this season while ranking in the 11% in CSW%. The Marlins have the 6th lowest K% (19.7%) against righties over the last 30 days and should be able to avoid the Ks and put the ball in play against Adon once again.
