(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds
- Leg 1: Cubs Moneyline (-122)
- Leg 2: Shota Imanaga Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+115)
- Leg 3: Under 9 Total Runs (-112)
It's been all Reds in this series, as they won the last three games and have the chance to sweep the four-game series. They certainly have not made these wins easy because they have had multiple-run leads in the previous two games but have allowed the Cubs to get back within one. With many young and talented players on this roster, pre-season predictions had them contending for a playoff spot, especially with how well they played towards the end of last season.
This team possesses a ton of speed, and if they learned to play better small ball, they could make a run. Being 25th in strikeout percentage doesn't give them many chances to utilize it.
Frankie Montas has been highly inconsistent this season. Although his fastball can reach the upper 90s, its lack of movement generates just a 19.7% whiff rate.
It was a great start to the Cubs’ season, as they went 17-10, but they have started to regress, going 14-25 since. Much of it has to do with the offense starting so well, hitting .250 with a .741 OPS in the first 26 games, but they are batting only .210 and have had a .639 OPS since.
The top of this rotation has been holding down the pitching staff as best as possible, including Shota Imanaga. After that horrific start against Milwaukee, where he allowed seven earned runs, he allowed five runs, but he is only credited with allowing one earned in a Cubs win.
The Reds offense hasn't been impressive in the last two games, and Imanaga's ability to get swings and misses will help him against a Reds lineup that has trouble making contact.

Los Angeles Dodgers at New York Yankees
- Leg 1: Dodgers Moneyline (-122)
- Leg 2: Tyler Glasnow Under 4.5 Hits Allowed (-155)
- Leg 3: Giancarlo Stanton Under 0.5 Total Bases (+110)
The Yankees are on the verge of being swept at home for the first time since August 2023. In the first game, the hitting was non-existent with five hits and one run in 11 innings, but on Saturday, they were able to have 13 total bases runners and optimal scoring chances, but couldn't get the big hit and left ten runners on base. The Yanks were still in that game late, but one of the best bullpens allowed seven runs in the final two innings to let it get away. Luis Gil has been one of the best pitchers, as he leads the American League with a 1.82 ERA and leads the whole league in 3.8 hits per nine.
The Dodgers can beat you in many ways, and that's why they are one of the best teams. They're second in the National League in overall ERA (3.25), and their biggest problem last year was the bullpen, which is second (3.02) this year. Shohei Ohtani was Los Angeles' biggest offensive acquisition, but Teoscar Hernandez is proving to be another great one, as he had two home runs and six RBI on Saturday after his game-winning two-run double in the 11th on Friday. Their big pitching acquisition, Tyler Glasnow, has brought great returns as he leads the league with 104 strikeouts and nine quality starts.
Glasnow's familiarity with pitching against the Yankees in the Bronx, where he's 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA, will help the Dodgers complete the sweep.
