We have less than a month left of the regular season. With a lot of the teams still in contention, it'll be a fun few weeks. Let's look at some important matchups with teams needing wins to stay in the race.

Milwaukee Brewers at New York Yankees
- Leg 1: Yankees Moneyline (-130)
- Leg 2: Under 8.5 Runs (-140)
- Leg 3: Gerrit Cole 7+ Strikeouts (+105)
Gerrit Cole is continuing his stellar 2023 campaign, and over his last 12 starts, he's gone at least six innings and allowed two or fewer runs in nine. He already has a sizable lead in the odds to win the American League Cy Young race, and with a season coming to a close, a couple of more solid performances could clinch the award.
A possible double-digit win season, sub-4.00 ERA, and an All-Star appearance are good, but this has been a regression for Corbin Burnes. His 3.64 ERA is well below his 2.91 average since 2021, and he's also seen a rise in his walk rate and a dip in strikeouts. While a lot of his top metrics are in the 70th percentile or better, he's had years where these numbers were in the top 1%.
This will be a fun pitching matchup, but we haven't seen too many teams get the better of Cole this year.

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox
- Leg 1: Orioles Moneyline (-105)
- Leg 2: Under 10.5 Runs (-135)
- Leg 3: Adley Rutschman 2+ Total Bases (-120)
After struggling last year in his rookie season, Brayan Bello has come into his own and has been a constant presence in a Boston rotation that’s had inconsistencies. The reason for this turnaround has been the increased movement in his sinker and changeup, as well as the fact he's cut his walk rate from 10.1 last year to 6.6 in 2023.
It has been a huge turnaround for rookie Grayson Rodriguez in the second half of the season. Over his last eight starts, he has a 2.40 ERA, and opposing batters have a .280 slugging percentage. The reason for his improvement is he's getting better at fooling hitters with slider and changeup, allowing for a better whiff rate on his fastball. This has resulted in a drop in home runs allowed; he went from allowing 13 in his first ten starts to three in his last nine.

Oakland Athletics at Texas Rangers
- Leg 1: Athletics Moneyline (+195)
- Leg 2: Under 9.5 Runs (-125)
- Leg 3: Corey Seager 2+ Total Bases (-120)
When Jon Gray is on, he's an excellent power pitcher with a fastball in the upper 90s that he can blow by batters. He does have a difficult time with consistency, and he tends to lose control, which his below-league-average 8.3% walk rate can attest. He has two starts against the Athletics; one good start, going eight scoreless and one bad allowed, four earned with five walks.
Luis Medina is steadily improving as the season progresses, and although he missed some time with a blister on the index finger of his pitching hand, he looked good in his return last week. He’s gained better control of his pitches, especially the sinker, and is getting it closer to the strike zone, forcing opposing batters to swing.
The Rangers have been struggling and are just 4-16 in their last 20 as they lose ground in the standings. I'm feeling an upset by Oakland.
