Wednesday’s Best Same Game Parlays

Miami Marlins at Tampa Bay Rays

Marlins ML (+145) and o4.5 Runs (+205)

I tend to make myself a glutton for punishment with these bets and have repeatedly bet on Sandy Alcantara, assuming the vintage version (2022) of him will return. However, it repeatedly comes back to bite me, and I end up getting burned by the current version. The Rays’ offense has been struggling mightily, and Sandy can hopefully use these struggles to his advantage to get himself back on track. The Marlins’ offense is no better, and Zach Eflin has been one of the best FA adds of the season, but the jolt of energy coming from a good start for Alcantara could be what the offense needs to bounce back.

Jesus Sanchez 2+ TBs (+155)

Whenever I bet on the Marlins’ offense versus an RHP, Sanchez is my accompanying TBs bet. The lefty has some of the best pop in this Marlins’ offense, with an ISO up over 0.200. If they are going to score, he will be in the middle of it.

Combined Odds: +525

Baltimore Orioles at Philadelphia Phillies

Orioles -1.5 (+150) and o5.5 Runs (+145)

I was somewhat surprised to see the Orioles as slight underdogs with Kyle Bradish on the mound. The righty has been elite this season with an ERA slightly above three. He has not allowed more than three runs in a start since May and has only allowed three twice in that time frame. He should have no issues keeping it rolling and holding down the Phillies’ offense, even in Citizen’s Bank Ballpark. On the flip side, Ranger Suarez has been inconsistent in his starts this season, allowing three-plus runs in his last four starts which came off a stretch of five straight allowing one or fewer. Baltimore has a 111 wRC+ versus Southpaws this season, and they are playing some great baseball, putting themselves in a position to take advantage of the inconsistencies Suarex shows.

Adley Rutschman 2+ TBs (+110)

We usually like getting betters odds on the TBs bet, but Rutschman has a 142 wRC+ versus lefties and has been one of the team’s best hitters overall. They are going to score runs, and with him at the top of the lineup, he will get many opportunities to hit this leg of the parlay.

Combined Odds: +400

Los Angeles Angels at Detroit Tigers

Angels -1.5 (+140) and o4.5 Runs (+110)

In the same mold as the bet above, the Angels feel like they should be much bigger favorites than they are. Patrick Sandoval has been more like Suarez, however, and has been insanely inefficient and inconsistent. However, the Tigers can’t hit lefties with a 93 wRC+. They lose two of their better bats this season, Zach McKinstry and Kerry Carpenter, when they go up against lefties. Sandoval should be able to build off his great last start and make it two in a row. On the offensive side, the Angels have struggled without several of their best hitters, but there is still talent in this lineup, and Michael Lorenzen is nothing that really terrifies me. This is not a high bar to clear, and they should be able to get there.

Mickey Moniak 2+ TBs (+155)

Monaik doesn’t draw walks and literally cannot hit lefties, but he absolutely destroyed righties with a 198 wRC+ this season. His odds here are way too good for us not to consider him as part of this SGP, and he should be right in the middle of any scoring the Angels do. He also should not get pinch hit for, as the Angels barely have enough viable hitters to play as is.

Combined Odds: +450
