New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies were looking good at the start of Game 1 as Kyle Schwarber hit a lead-off home run, but they would only score once more in the ninth. It could have been a rest vs. rust situation, and they will need to shake off that rust because this is a best-of-5 series, and you don't want to go down 0-2 and then head on the road.

This is one of the top rotations in baseball. Their ace Zach Wheeler was locked in, only allowing one hit in seven innings, and that one run of support could have been all he needed. The bullpen could not keep it close as they allowed six runs to blow the Game 1 lead.

Cristopher Sanchez is hot coming into the playoffs; the Phillies won his last six starts, including two against the Mets.

We have already seen the "Miracle Mets," but everything is remade these days, so why not do it with this team? They made another exciting late comeback, scoring five runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth to steal another win.

It's been a crazy ride to get to this point. They needed to win one game in a doubleheader and then win two more road games in the span of three days. They've now played six games in six days, more than any other team.

Luis Severino started Game 1 of the Wild Card series, and he needed at least six innings coming off that doubleheader, and he did, allowing four total runs on the way to a win.

San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers

That Dodgers and Padres game was an explosive offensive outburst. We had 11 runs in the first four innings and two lead changes.

The Dodgers had some exciting moments, but the top moment was Shohei Ohtani’s postseason debut when he hit a home run in the second inning. It was probably the most excitement we've ever seen from the future National League MVP.

Jack Flaherty gets the start in Game 2 and was the Dodgers’ big trade deadline acquisition, and he delivered, going 6-2 with a 3.58 ERA in ten starts.

The Padres had a chance to win this game. The big one came in the eighth inning, when they had the bases loaded but couldn't deliver.

Former Dodger Yu Darvish spent some time on the IL this season, but when he was on the mound, he had a 3.31 ERA, the second-best in his Padres career. The 2022 playoff run with San Diego was one of his best. He went 2-1 with a 2.88 ERA, including a win in Dodger Stadium, going five innings and allowing three earned runs.

Both offenses looked great yesterday, and this could be a series of big moments with the bats.
