Los Angeles Angels vs. Toronto Blue Jays
- Leg 1: First Five Innings Under 4.5 Runs (-160)
- Leg 2: Dylan Cease 7+ Strikeouts (-288)
- Leg 3: Reid Detmers Under 5.5 Hits Allowed (-130)
- Leg 4: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-133)
Let's lead off our same-game parlays with a potential pitchers' duel in Toronto. We have Dylan Cease on the mound for the Blue Jays, while Reid Detmers starts for the Angels. Both starters can limit runs and anchor our SGP.
Cease has a solid 3.05 ERA over his first seven starts, and his 2.13 FIP is notably lower. That's a good sign for the Toronto right-hander, who's allowed two earned runs or fewer in five out of seven outings. His 33.7% strikeout rate (95th MLB percentile), 36.9% whiff rate (97th) and 3.4% barrel rate (88th) are also excellent underlying metrics.
Cease will take on an Angels offense that has a .260 wOBA and 61 wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the past week, which are second-worst in the Majors during this stretch. Los Angeles also has a 27.2% strikeout rate versus righties over the last week (third in MLB). Overall, the lineup has the highest strikeout rate in the split this season (26%). It sets up well for Cease, who is averaging eight strikeouts per start.
As for Detmers, he's a prime positive regression candidate. The Angels left-hander has a shaky 4.28 ERA this year, but his 2.82 FIP and 2.83 xERA are encouraging. He also boasts some ideal advanced stats. Detmers is allowing just a 5.4% barrel rate with a 35.4% chase rate, ranking in the 89th and 87th percentiles, respectively.
Detmers is pitching much better than his ERA suggests. He has a good opportunity to improve on that number in today's matchup. The Blue Jays are batting only .176 against left-handed pitching over the past two weeks, which ranks 29th in the league. The Angels southpaw owns a 1.52 FIP over his three road starts so far. He's gone under 5.5 hits allowed in five out of seven outings overall, and should do it again today.
Though we're hoping for a solid Detmers outing, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. can still have a good game himself. He's batting .371 with a .938 OPS at home this year. The Blue Jays star is hitting .310 with a .996 OPS against left-handed pitching. Meanwhile, Detmers has been worse against right-handers, with a .274 average and .734 OPS allowed in the split.

Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles
- Leg 1: Athletics Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-105)
- Leg 2: Kyle Bradish Over Hits Allowed (+125)
- Leg 3: Jacob Wilson Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-118)
- Leg 4: Taylor Ward Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-133)
Let's now turn our attention to a different American League matchup for our other SGP. The Orioles host the Athletics in a potentially high-scoring contest. Bank on an offensive-focused battle with these four props.
The Athletics should get to Baltimore starter Kyle Bradish today. The right-hander has a rough 5.03 ERA and 1.82 WHIP over his first seven outings. His 5.11 xERA and 4.85 FIP aren't any better, either. He's also allowed at least six hits in five of his last six starts. Opposing teams are averaging 5.6 runs per game in his starts this season.
Now Bradish has to face an offense crushing right-handed pitching lately. Over the past two weeks, the A's have a .298 batting average and .393 wOBA versus righties. The Athletics are also a top-tier offense overall this year against right-handers, with a .340 wOBA and 111 wRC+ in the split.
One Athletics hitter who can contribute to the damage is Jacob Wilson. The shortstop is on fire lately, batting .350 over the past 15 games. He's also hit safely in 11 straight games and in 16 of the last 17 games coming into today. Wilson has gone over 1.5 combined hits + runs + RBIs in 11 of the last 15 contests. Meanwhile, Bradish has allowed a .396 batting average and 1.056 OPS to right-handed hitters thus far.
As for the Orioles' offense, Taylor Ward is a hitter to target. The outfielder has been tough on left-handed pitching, with a .296 batting average and .955 OPS in the split this season. Ward will face Athletics southpaw Jacob Lopez, who is allowing a .310 average and .944 OPS to right-handed batters. Lopez also has a 6.60 ERA and 1.90 WHIP overall this season.
