MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 72-38
It didn’t work out last start, but any time this is at a palatable number, it is a play. Tyler Anderson has had no regard for the strike zone over the past two seasons, going over this line in six of eight starts this season, and 22 out of 27 appearances last year. Add that all up and we’re looking at an 80% hit rate over his last 35 times in a game. Give me the more than all day with that.
The Yankees captain is on fire right now. Over his last 11 games, Aaron Judge is 18-for-39 with five home runs and nine doubles, good for a 1.648 OPS. Judge has gone over this in seven of those contests. Mike Clevinger isn’t anything to worry about, and the same goes with the White Sox’s bullpen. Ride the hot wave with Judge and take the more than here.
The Mariners are so strikeout-prone that it doesn’t matter who faces them when the line is this low. They have the second-highest K% (26%) against left-handed pitching and eight of the 10 lefty starters to face them have exceeded this total. John Means has looked solid in his first two starts, totaling eight and three punchouts. The latter start came against the Diamondbacks, who rarely ever strikeout against lefties.
