MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 82-43
I don’t understand the price on this prop. Sandoval has always struggled with his control. He has issued two free passes in seven of 10 starts this season, and 56 of his last 79 (71%) dating back to 2021. The Guardians are sixth in BB% (9.3%) against lefties over the past 30 days.
The recent run Lugo has been on cannot be ignored. Over his last five starts he has recorded:
- 10 K’s vs OAK
- 10 K’s vs LAA
- 5 vs MIL
- 9 vs TOR
- 8 vs DET
Now, he takes on the Rays who have the fourth highest K% (26.2%) and 23rd in wRC+ (86) against righties over the past two weeks. Nine of the past 13 righties to face the Rays have gone over this mark and so should Lugo.
The Padres have been downright awful against left-handed pitching of late. They are 29th in wRC+ (63) when facing southpaws over the past 30 days. Their roster also has a paltry 28.4% K% and .256 xwOBA against Rodon, who has pitched much better this season compared to last year. Rodon has gone under this line in eight of 10 starts. Eight of the last nine lefties to face the Padres have stayed under this as well.
