Unfortunately, the player predictions went 1-2 on Thursday. One of the losses was particularly unfortunate, with Zac Gallen leaving the game after just six pitches. Let’s try to rebound as we make our way into the weekend. Here are three of my favorite pitcher player predictions for Friday, May 31.

MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 91-43
Ronel Blanco is a solid starter, but not one typically going over this line. Among starters, he ranks in the 67th percentile in K% and 62nd in CSW%. He has gone under this line in seven of his nine starts. He takes on the Twins who aren’t striking out at the alarming rate they were earlier this year. They are 19th in K% (19.8%) against right-handed pitching over the past 30 days. Twenty of the past 25 right-handers to face them have gone under this.
I wrote him up a couple of weeks ago when he took on the Cardinals, and Tobias Myers came through, finishing with six strikeouts. He likely won’t be in the game for more than 80 pitches, but that’s all it might take to find five punchouts against the White Sox. They are tied for second in K% (28%) and dead last in wRC+ (62) over the past two weeks facing righties. Myers has recorded at least four strikeouts in five of his six starts, exceeding this line on two occasions. The matchup on hand should get him to at least five today.
Reynaldo Lopez has been a revelation in Atlanta and is generating an impressive 30.6% CSW% this season. That ranks in the 86th percentile amongst starters this season. He takes on the lowly Oakland Athletics today, who are fourth in K% (25%) against righties across the past 30 days. That rate is even worse over the past two weeks at 28% and the last 10 right-handed starters to face them have eclipsed this mark. Lopez hasn’t had his best strikeout stuff as of late, presenting a good opportunity to buy low at a great price.
