Blake Snell is on fire right now. He tossed a no-hitter two starts back and has a 1.15 ERA (2.18 FIP) over his last six starts since coming off the IL. The Giants left-hander has recorded eight or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts, which includes two spike performances, where he found 11 and 15 punchouts. Tonight he takes on the strikeout-prone Atlanta Braves squad, which ranks 3rd in K% (26.6%) since the start of June.
Following the departure of Yusei Kikuchi, Bowden Francis has joined the Blue Jays rotation. he looked solid in his last start against the treacherous Baltimore lineup, firing seven strikeouts across five frames, while allowing just three hits and two earned runs. Now facing the Angels, Francis should be able to get over this low strikeout line. The Halos are eighth in K% (25%) against right-handed pitching over the past two weeks.
This ought to be set at 0.5 for Shota Imanaga. His control of the strike zone is as good as anyone, as he ranks in the top 96th percentile in BB%. He has stayed under this mark in 18 of his 21 starts. Shota faces the Guardians who are 24th in BB% (6.4%) over the past 30 days against left-handed pitching. In fact, 11 of the past 15 southpaws to face Cleveland have stayed under this walk total.
