Happy Monday all. We have a shorter slate of games today, but that doesn’t mean there will be a shortage of picks. Every Monday-Friday I’ll have three of my favorite player predictions via Sleeper. Let’s jump right into it for Monday, August 26.

MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 177-102 (63.4%)
Nestor Cortes More Than 18.5 Outs (2.27x)
Let’s start the card off with a 2.23x banger. Cortes is in peak form right now. He’s coming off back-to-back shutout performances, going seven innings against the Guardians and White Sox. Today, he takes on the lowly Nationals, who have been just 19th in wRC+ (96) against lefties since the start of July. The most glaring trend over this period is how deep lefties are going against them. 10 of the last 14 southpaws to face them over this period have exceeded this line. Washington has seen the third-fewest pitches per plate appearance this season.
Ryan Pepiot More Than 15.5 Outs (1.59x)
Pepiot and the Rays travel up the coast to take on the Seattle Mariners. They have improved at the dish more recently, but this is still an average lineup at best, and one that Pepiot should be able to navigate through. Excluding two shortened starts due to injury/return from injury, Pep has gone over this out prop in 13 of his 17 starts this season. That includes a shutdown outing against the Mariners two months ago when he finished with 16 outs while allowing just one hit, one earned run, and two walks, with eight strikeouts.
Aaron Judge Less Than 1.5 Walks (1.27x)
Batter props aren’t something I typically jump on, but this line is worth taking a shot on. Yes, Aaron Judge is the greatest hitter on Earth, and he is on fire, but even still yet, I don’t think any batter should ever have a walk prop set at 1.5. He has stayed under this line in nearly 82% of his games played this season. Until teams start giving him the Barry Bonds intentional walk treatment on a regular basis, this is a play in my eyes.
