Tuesday’s Best MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 46-25
This isn’t the best price to wager on, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. There can still be incredible value in heavily juiced props. This fits the bill. The Angels lefty has been a walk machine over the last two seasons, exceeding this line in 24 of his previous 30 starts dating back to 2023. Tyler Anderson has issued at least two free passes in four of his five starts this year, averaging 2.6 per start. Anderson takes on the Phillies, who have the seventh highest BB% (10.7%) when facing southpaws this season. Nine of the 11 left-handed starters to face them have gone over this line.
Typically facing a team on back-to-back starts bodes well for the offense, but in this case, the offense at hand is pathetic no matter which way one puts it. The White Sox have the worst wRC+ (74) and ninth-highest K% (24%) against right-handed pitching. Simeon Woods Richardson faced them five days back and found six strikeouts across five solid innings of work, allowing just two earned runs. Nine of the last 12 right-handed starters to take on the White Sox have found at least five punchouts, a fairly low bar for any capable starter to eclipse. Richardson also had five strikeouts against Detroit in his other start this season.
Like Richardson’s situation, Cole Ragans took on Toronto just five days back and gets them again this Tuesday. His start was shortened due to weather, but he still managed to gut out a solid performance, hurling five innings on 76 pitches. He struck out four and allowed one earned run. With better weather in this one, look for Ragans to get back on track to his strikeout ways. Since joining Kansas City he has gone over this line in 12/18 starts.
