A 3-0 sweep to start the week off ain’t too shabby if I do say so myself. Let’s follow up Monday’s sweep with another positive day this Tuesday, July 30. Here are three of my favorite prop plays for today’s MLB slate of games.

MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Sleeper Record: 150-87 (63.3%)
The 2021 AL Cy Young winner was phenomenal in his 2024 Giants debut. After a sloppy first inning, he rebounded and retired the final 14 batters he faced, finishing with eight strikeouts against the Dodgers across five innings of no-hit ball. Tonight he takes on a much easier opponent, facing the Oakland Athletics. They have the sixth-highest K% (24%) against lefties on the season. We just saw Tyler Anderson, who is not known for his strikeout prowess, find 10 punchouts against them. Robbie Ray has a career 11.04 K/9 and should have no issues taking the A’s down in a Bay Bridge showdown.
Fenway Park is one of the hardest places to pitch and the Red Sox are much better against righties compared to lefties. However, this line is simply too low for Luis Castillo. He has surpassed this mark in 15-of-22 starts this season, 27-of-33 last year, 21-of-25 in 2022, and 25-of-33 in 2021. Add that all up and we are looking at a 78% hit rate over the past four seasons for the Mariners ace.
Facing the Cardinals, this is another subpar strikeout matchup, for an elite starter with a track record for finding plenty of strikeouts. Mad Max is coming off an elite outing against the lowly White Sox, striking out nine across six innings of one-run ball. That was refreshing to see, considering he left after just 53 pitches in his previous outing against the Orioles. Before that start, he struck out six in back-to-back starts against the Astros and Angels. Scherzer has an extensive history of shutting down this St. Louis roster too. They have a combined 37% K% and .233 xwOBA across 160 plate appearances against him.
