Wednesday’s Best MLB Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions
Aaron Judge HIGHER 10.0 Fantasy Points
Aaron Judge has consistently crushed everything this year. Yet, he’s kicked it up lately. According to FanGraphs, in Judge’s previous 119 plate appearances, he’s hit 10 homers with 22 runs, 25 RBIs, one stolen base, a .563 OBP, .400 ISO and 271 wRC+. The hulking slugger would be a challenging matchup for anyone. Yet, Judge has a tasty matchup against a rookie with a 6.23 ERA and 7.24 xERA in three career starts. Joey Cantillo is in over his head against Judge.
Bobby Witt HIGHER 9.5 Fantasy Points
Bobby Witt, like Judge, is tearing the cover off the ball. Also, like Judge, Witt is on a nuclear heater. In Witt’s past 119 plate appearances, he’s hit eight homers and stolen three bases with 31 runs, 26 RBIs, a .471 OBP, .371 ISO and 238 wRC+. Witt is in a drool-inducing matchup against washed-up Johnny Cueto tonight. The 38-year-old righty ceded a .343 wOBA to 102 righties last year. Cueto has also had a 4.84 ERA in 12 starts in Triple-A this season.

MJ Melendez HIGHER 1.5 Total Bases (Scorcher 1.06x)
MJ Melendez has improved for the second consecutive season against righties. In 294 plate appearances against righties this year, he’s hit 18 doubles, two triples and 14 homers with a .225 batting average, .464 slugging and .240 ISO. Meanwhile, Cueto coughed up one double, 11 homers, a .269 batting average and .583 slugging to 116 lefties last season.
Nick Castellanos HIGHER 6.5 Fantasy Points
Nick Castellanos isn’t hitting at his peak level. Nevertheless, he’s still a thorn in the side of lefties. In 450 plate appearances against left-handed pitching since 2022, Castellanos has hit 18 homers with a .347 OBP, .192 ISO and 129 wRC+. He’s also in rock-solid form, tallying a .350 OBP, .168 ISO and 125 wRC+ in his previous 103 plate appearances. Finally, per Baseball Savant, Castellanos has had a .630 wOBA and .466 xwOBA in 20 career plate appearances against Fried.
