Saturday’s Best NBA Picks: Pistons vs. Timberwolves
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All bets are for 1 unit
Detroit Pistons (+118) at Minnesota Timberwolves (-138) | O/U 223.5 (-110/-110)
The Pistons (53-20) and Timberwolves (45-28) meet at the Target Center in Minneapolis at 5:30 p.m. ET on ABC. While both teams are playoff-bound, and this should be a marquee game, we’re missing a lot of star power.
For the Pistons, Cade Cunningham is sidelined due to pneumothorax (left lung issue). Jalen Duren (knee), Tobias Harris (hip), Duncan Robinson (hip) and Ausar Thompson (ankle) are all questionable to play. That’s a lot of uncertainty for the visitors.
Despite some issues, Detroit has won five of the past six games, while going 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past five outings. The over has hit in two in a row, and seven of the past 10 games.
As far as the Timberwolves are concerned, Anthony Edwards (knee) is listed as out with patellofemoral pain syndrome in the right knee, which is the same injury Golden State’s Steph Curry has been dealing with for several weeks. Jaden McDaniels (knee) is also out, while Ayo Dosunmu (calf) is questionable
Minnesota has cobbled together wins in four of the past five outings, while also going 4-1 ATS in the span. The under has cashed in three in a row and five of the past six outings, however.
There is a ton of uncertainty, so we certainly want a piece of the under. That’s our best bet. In addition, you’ll also want to back the Timberwolves at home. While Edwards is sidelined, the only other major injury is to Dosunmu, and the swingman could very well play. If he plays, the Timberwolves could win this one going away.
Picks: Timberwolves -2.5 (-110) & Under 223.5 Points (-110)
