NBA Player Props & Bets: Cavaliers vs. Knicks (Thursday)

NBA Player Props & Bets: Cavaliers vs. Knicks (Thursday)

Welcome to another day of NBA player props. We have had some amazing Conference Finals games to start each respective series. If you aren't taking advantage of the BettingPros prop tools, you're missing out, but there's no time like the present for what has been a fun playoffs. It's been a profitable year, and I plan on continuing that into the postseason.

As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. That's not as necessary with only one game, but you never know who might pop up on the injury report.

The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up to date with the latest news. The second-best way is to shop around at different sportsbooks. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value.

After a thrilling game one, New York is favored by 6.5 points with a 216-point total. Let's see if Cleveland once again falls apart in the fourth or if they can steal one in New York. Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be for a single unit.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds (-117 at ProphetX)

After a very weird game to open the series, I'm buying back stock in New York. I know they won, but it wasn't the most efficient offensive output after sweeping the 76ers.

Whether it was rust or jitters, I imagine Karl-Anthony Towns and company will be more efficient this evening. Despite the Knicks’ big man not covering this line in four of the last five playoff games, he is due for positive regression, and I can't imagine the Cavaliers will let Jalen Brunson do all the damage again tonight.

Towns also wasn't needed much in the 76ers series, whereas now he'll play over 35 minutes a game, so the line on this prop is too low. The BettingPros prop bet cheat sheet projects this closer to 32 on the combo prop, so there's still some value on the juice.

Jarrett Allen Over 11.5 Points (-118 at Novig)

I'm sticking with the other big man tonight because I simply don't get how Jarrett Allen’s price hasn't increased. After playing 35 minutes in Game 1, it's clear that Cleveland is depending on Allen.

Allen may not have as high a usage rate as Donovan Mitchell, James Harden or Evan Mobley, but he's covered this line in five of his last seven playoff games and seven of his last 11, scoring 20+ points twice.

Allen’s usage rate in Game 7 against Detroit reached 35%. That is an outlier; it shows just how much work he can handle.

The Knicks don’t have a solid interior defense. I'm buying the dip here after Allen showed what he is capable of, and the opportunity he should get from seeing at least 30 minutes on the court tonight.
