There are six games across The Association this evening, with no shortage of options to explore. Let's get into some of our favorite NBA player props for Friday, January 16th.
Egor Demin Over 10.5 Points (-106)
The rookie point guard continues to make strides in his first NBA season. Egor Demin is averaging 10.6 points while making 2.5 shots from beyond the arc each contest. Demin has made at least three baskets from deep over the previous five games and is experiencing a slight increase in playing time.
The Nets guard is averaging 24.9 minutes. However, that has increased to 28.3 minutes in January, and 28.8 over the last 10 contests. Demin is hitting 47.6% of his attempts from above the perimeter through the last 10 games.
Demin is averaging 12 points in 19 home games and has failed to reach 11 points in just three out of 12 contests. The young guard has scored 13+ points in seven consecutive games played at home. Demin finished with 10 points when the Nets last matched up with Chicago. With the uptick in playing time, we feel Demin finishes with 11+ points in this contest.
Andre Drummond Over 4.5 Rebounds (-123)
The veteran center may have added a new wrinkle to his game with the emergence of some three-point success. However, the bread is buttered, so to speak, in Andre Drummond’s tremendous ability to pull down boards in a short span of time. Drummond's capabilities will most certainly be needed against Cleveland in this contest.
The 76ers center is averaging 20 minutes per contest when playing the Cavaliers, an eight-minute increase compared to his season average of 12 minutes. Drummond has grabbed 22 rebounds against Cleveland in two games played against them this season. The UConn alum finished with nine rebounds on Wednesday when these two teams last matched up.
Drummond has grabbed at least six rebounds in the previous 16 games played against the Central Division. Mind you, we only need five boards for this prop to hit. Drummond has finished with at least five boards in three consecutive contests. The 32-year-old is still behind Joel Embiid and Adem Bona in the rotation. Having said that, Drummond only needed 12 minutes to grab nine boards on Wednesday.
Jordan Poole Over 11.5 Points (-126)
Jordan Poole is averaging 15.2 points per game. At first glance, there appears to be a fantastic edge for this selection. Yet, it's the volatility in minutes that makes this prop somewhat of a sweat. Regardless, we are backing Poole to finish this contest with 12+ points.
Poole is averaging 11.1 points over eight games in January. The sharp-shooting guard has scored 12+ points in six out of the previous 10 games, and is averaging 14.1 points over that span. Poole makes an additional 1.1 three-pointer per game when playing on the road, while scoring an extra 1.1 points (15.9).
The veteran guard has scored 13+ points in 14 consecutive contests against the Central Division when playing on the road. Poole finished with 16 points when the Pelicans last played the Pacers.
Rudy Gobert 12+ Rebounds (+103)
Rudy Gobert ranks third in the league with 11.4 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves center is currently on a powerful rebounding stretch. Despite a tough matchup against Houston (second-fewest rebounds allowed), Gobert appears to be in a fantastic spot to return a positive profit.
Gobert is averaging 13.5 boards through six games in January, and 12.2 over the last 10 contests. The veteran center has finished with 12+ rebounds in all six contests in January. Gobert pulled down at least 12 boards in 13 out of his last 16 games.
The Timberwolves center recorded at least 12 rebounds in the previous nine games played on the road against the Western Conference. Gobert has accumulated 12+ boards in eight out of the last 10 road games.
Kawhi Leonard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-128)
We close out our selections with the juiciest of all the options to take into consideration. The return is certainly not egregious; however, getting to the window early is somewhat suggested. You always want to avoid the steam if possible. Kawhi Leonard is currently listed as questionable once again with ankle issues. Yet, that hasn't prevented him from being on the floor lately.
Leonard is knocking down 3.9 three-pointers per contest over his last eight games. The veteran forward has finished with three or more baskets from above the perimeter in five consecutive contests. Leonard has faced Eastern Conference opponents on 11 occasions this season. He is averaging 3.5 three-point baskets through those contests.
The Clippers forward made at least three shots from deep in six out of the last seven games played against the Eastern Conference. The Los Angeles Clippers have won four consecutive games, with Leonard knocking down 20 shots from three-point distance on an astounding 58% shooting.
Enjoy the games tonight. Best of luck with your picks.
