Friday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Giannis Antetokounmpo Under 31.5 Points (-116)

We kick things off with a points prop that is more than likely too high to begin the start of the season. Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 37 points on the Wizards in the first game of the season for the Milwaukee Bucks. Obviously, that result is heavily baked into the 31.5 total for this contest.
Antetokounmpo matches up against a well-known rival this evening in Toronto and is sure to have full command of Milwaukee's offense. Having said that, not only has history favored the Raptors in this matchup, but Milwaukee's top scoring option may be limited somewhat due to injury.
The two-time MVP is dealing with a back injury suffered in the first game of the season and is currently listed as probable. Make sure to check the BettingPros app later for all your up-to-date information.
Antetokounmpo is averaging 24.8 points in the last 10 games played against Toronto. When playing on the road, the Bucks forward experiences a profound dip to 19.6 points per game on 45.8% shooting from the field. Despite being such a focal point of the scoring attack for Milwaukee, we feel he falls short of 32 points in this contest.

Amen Thompson 1+ Three-Pointers Made (-136)

A toe on the line cost Amen Thompson a successful three-point basket on Tuesday when the Rockets and Thunder felt it appropriate to kick off the season with an all-out double-overtime war. The fourth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft played his first official game as the primary ball-handler for Houston and proved he is more than capable of assuming that role going forward.
The three-point production was nothing short of horrid for Thompson in the first game of the season. In fact, it was so bad, there wasn't even any to speak of. However, the volume in regards to attempts is exactly why we are going back to the well, and backing the athletic guard to make at least one three-pointer against the Detroit Pistons.
Thompson hoisted up seven three-point attempts on Tuesday, and unfortunately, was not able to land a single shot from deep. The guard for the Rockets connected on 4-of-6 three-pointers in the preseason, so we know the ability to make baskets from beyond the perimeter is there. Considering the attempts in the first game and the incredible 72% shooting over the preseason, we feel the two worlds meet tonight, resulting in one three-point basket for Amen Thompson.

Anthony Edwards 30+Points (+163)

Anthony Edwards has kicked off the season with a bang. In the season’s opening act, the superstar guard scored 41 points, while shooting a glorious 50% from the field on 28 attempts. The Minnesota guard also shot 50% from beyond the arc on 10 attempts.
Edwards closed out the last seven games of the regular season last year with an average of 31.7 points per game. The Timberwolves guard has scored at least 30 points in three out of the six previous matchups against Luka Doncic.
The 24-year-old has improved on his points per game average every year since being drafted in 2020. Edwards averaged 27.8 points last season, and it certainly would not be a surprise if he finished the season averaging more than 30 points per game. As for this contest, if Edwards is going to be on the floor for 39 minutes again against Los Angeles, we absolutely expect him to score at least 30 points tonight.

Anthony Davis 2+ Blocks (-115)

Despite the Mavericks getting absolutely blown off the court in the first game of the season against San Antonio, Anthony Davis was on the floor for 32 minutes and recorded one block. He will more than likely be on the floor for a longer duration, which may provide a bit of an angle on this blocks prop against Washington this evening.
Davis closed out last season averaging 2.8 blocked shots per game. The Mavericks forward is averaging 2.4 blocks in his previous 10 contests against Washington. Dating back to 2017, Davis has recorded at least two blocked shots in nine out of those 10 games and in seven consecutive contests.
The Wizards had their shots blocked on six occasions in their opening contest against Milwaukee. Davis is averaging 2.1 blocks over the last 20 regular-season games and has blocked 12 shots in the previous four games.

Toumani Camara 2+ Three-Pointers Made (+151)

We close out our selections with a three-point prop that may be flying way under the radar, so to speak. Toumani Camara has made two or more three-pointers in 13 out of his last 15 games. In the first contest of the season for Portland, Camara knocked down two three-pointers on five attempts.
The 6-foot-7 forward recorded at least two baskets made from beyond the arc in four out of the last five regular-season games. The Warriors have allowed 26 three-pointers in their initial two contest to begin the season. Golden State is coming off an epic overtime battle against Denver last night, so their defense is extremely vulnerable this evening.
Camara could continue to experience a minutes increase from last season. In the first contest for Portland, he played 35 minutes compared to his 32.7 minutes per game average last season. Camara is showing strong efficiency from deep over the last 15 games, and gets the added benefit of extra playing time. This home matchup against a Golden State team coming off a back-to-back should result in at least two three-pointers for Camara.
Enjoy the games tonight and best of luck with your picks.
