After a colossal 15-game mega-slate on Wednesday, the NBA holds just five games today before the All-Star break. With the break so close, and all of these teams coming off a back-t0-back, there will be plenty of notable absences tonight, so be sure to check into the injury reports.

I said it Monday and I’ll repeat it: Isaiah Collier is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to assists. He now has nine or more dimes in six consecutive games, including nine against the Clippers just a few nights back. Coming off a back-to-back, it would be surprising to see many Los Angeles Clippers stars suiting up in this one, which should only boost Collier’s assist potential.
Missing Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively, Dwight Powell and likely P.J. Washington, Dallas is going to need someone to crash the boards, so look for Naji Mashall to step up. Last night without all of those bigs, he finished with a team-high eight rebounds on 16 rebound chances. The Heat are 25th in rebounding.
Julius Randle’s absence has unsurprisingly led to plenty of more time for last year’s Sixth Man of the Year winner Naz Reid. He has played 35+ minutes in six straight games and has recorded 26+ points + rebounds in five of those contests, averaging 29.2 per game. Oklahoma City has the best defensive Net rating but has been susceptible to spot-up shooting, ranking 26th in spot-up defense. Reid scores 30% of his points via that play type.
