Dejounte Murray is feeling it right now. He knocked down six of his nine attempts from beyond the arc in Sunday's loss to the Boston Celtics, extending his streak to four consecutive games with multiple made three-pointers. While Murray is still only averaging 1.6 three-pointers per game, this is a player who is shooting with a lot of confidence right now, and oddsmakers haven't caught up yet.
The Bulls are middle of the pack when it comes to three-pointers allowed. They've given up an average of 13.5 per game this season, which ranks 15th in the NBA. But they're also allowing the second-most points per game, so the offensive players for the Pelicans will have plenty of opportunities tonight. And Murray's shooting from behind the arc is one of the few things that is working for this team right now.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has pulled down at least 13 rebounds in three consecutive games. He's also grabbed at least 11 boards in 10 straight. However, he faces one of the toughest matchups in the league tonight, as he will have to go head-to-head with Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis is averaging a league-leading 14.2 rebounds per game, which is a large part of the reason why the Kings are allowing the sixth-fewest rebounds per game this season.
And while Antetokounmpo has played well of late, he's still averaging 11.9 rebounds per game, which is 1.1 below where this total is set. It's strange to see a number so high in such a bad matchup, even if a player has been performing very well. Look for Antetokounmpo to level out tonight, as he gets near his season average but doesn't go beyond it.
T.J. McConnell has back-to-back games with at least six assists, and he just dished out eight against the Cavaliers on Sunday in just 17 minutes. While that performance was certainly impressive, I don't expect him to replicate it tonight against the same opponent.
While McConnell got the best of the Cavaliers his last time out, the Cavs are allowing just 25.8 assists per game. That's the 11th-best mark in the league. And while McConnell has two solid performances in a row, he's only averaging 4.4 assists per game this season. He's gone under 5.5 assists in nine of his last 11 games. Don't fall for this trap from oddsmakers. Bet on the Cavaliers to be better prepared for a player that more often than not, struggles to hit this number.
