Golden State Warriors (+124) at Los Angeles Lakers (-144) | O/U 222.5 (-110/-110)
- Leg 1: Lakers -3 (-106)
- Leg 2: Under 222.5 Points (-114)
- Leg 3: Brandin Podziemski 10+ Points (-235)
- Leg 4: Moses Moody 10+ Points (-460)
- Leg 5: De’Anthony Melton 10+ Points (-720)
- Leg 6: LeBron James 15+ Points (-1100)
- Leg 7: Austin Reaves 15+ Points (-1000)
The Warriors (28-24) and the Lakers (31-19) meet at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Golden State has won the past two meetings, including the only previous battle this season. In fact, the Warriors won 119-109 as a 2.5-point favorite while the Over (227.5) cashed in a game in Los Angeles, although that was a game when LeBron James was sidelined due to sciatica. Luka Doncic went off for the Lakers, going for 43 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists while adding two 3-pointers and a block. Austin Reaves was good for 26 points and 9 assists, too. Luka won’t play in this one, however, as he is nursing a strained left hamstring.
For the Warriors, in that October meeting, Jimmy Butler dropped 31 points, but, of course, he is now out for the season due to a knee injury. In addition, Stephen Curry is listed as out for Saturday’s game due to right patellofemoral pain syndrome, while the recently acquired Kristaps Porzingis sits with a left Achilles issue.
Los Angeles topped Philadelphia 119-115 on Thursday as a 2-point favorite, while Doncic exited the game early. It was vintage LeBron, as he went for 17 points and 10 assists, although he also turned it over an unseemly eight times. Reaves was huge off the bench with 35 points, saving the bacon of the Lakers.
For Golden State, it picked up a 101-97 victory in Phoenix as a 6-point underdog while the Under (213.5) cashed, halting a two-game skid. Pat Spencer racked up 20 points, including six 3-pointers, while adding six boards, four assists, and two steals. Gui Santos had 18 points, and De’Anthony Melton was good for 17 points, while Gary Payton II was good for 15 points off the bench.
For this one, with no Curry or Doncic, some of the star power is lost, but we still have LeBron, and that is good enough reason to back the Lakers, especially at home. We’ll also go low on the total, as we have a lot of players who are normally reserves stepping into roles they’re not used to.
Lastly, we’ll look to the player props, and we’ll keep it super simple. Know that you would NEVER bet these players straight up, as the risk is too much for such a small reward. But, as part of a multi-leg parlay, it’s worth it, as we’ll bump up SGP to nearly 12X!
Parlay Odds: +1197
Cleveland Cavaliers (-650) at Sacramento Kings (+490) | O/U 234.5 (-110/-110)
- Leg 1: Mavericks +11 (-110)
- Leg 2: Under 220.5 Points (-106)
- Leg 3: James Harden 15+ Points (-650)
- Leg 4: Nique Clifford 5+ Points (-500)
- Leg 5: DeMar DeRozan 15+ Points (-196)
The Cavaliers (31-21) meet the Kings (12-41) at Golden 1 Center in California’s capital city, as the West Coast road trip continues.
Cleveland is making the fourth stop on a five-game road trip, and it has won the past two games by 19 or more points in Portland and in Los Angeles, against the Clippers, while also covering both outings. It kicked off the trip with a 126-113 loss in Phoenix on Jan. 30. The Cavs are also 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past six games, easily its best work against the number at any point this season. In fact, before that run, the Cavs were just 16-30 ATS in the first 46 games.
Will he, or won’t he? That’s the big question. The Cavs acquired James Harden from the Clippers, but he didn’t play against his former team last time out, and he is still listed on the injury report as ‘trade pending’. However, there are odds available for Harden, so it appears ‘The Beard’ will debut for his new team against Sacto.
We know that Evan Mobley will not play due to a strained left calf, while Dean Wade is questionable due to a sprained left ankle, so Harden’s inclusion will be welcome.
For the Kings, they just played Friday, falling 114-111 at home to the aforementioned Clippers, although Sacramento did cover as 3.5-point underdogs, snapping an 0-3 ATS skid. They’re still 2-5 ATS in the past seven games, however. The Over has cashed in three in a row for Sacramento, too, while Cleveland has gone high in two of the past three.
While Cleveland is 5-1 ATS in the past six games, as a double-digit favorite, the Cavs have failed to cover in eight in a row since their most recent cover as a 13.5-point favorite in Washington on Nov. 7. Cleveland is 1-10 ATS this season as a favorite of 10+ points.
We’re going to take the Kings to cover, and we’ll go high on the total, based on the trends. We’ll also keep it simple with the scoring in this one, too. Let’s roll with Nique Clifford of the Kings to simply get to five points. The rookie has carved out a nice role for himself with the Kings. Look for Harden to debut with at least 15 points, while we’ll also take DeMar DeRozan to pace Sacramento with 15+ points.
Parlay Odds: +458
