NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/20/24)
Regular season record: 32-22
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): OVER 6.5 1st quarter points
Donovan missed his first quarter mark last night, managing just four points in the first quarter against the defending champion Boston Celtics. He should be much better tonight against New Orleans and should be able to hit at least six points, provided he comes out aggressive as usual. Donovan has been a tone-setter for the Cavs this season, averaging eight first quarter points per game. He has registered six or more first quarter points in eight of his last 12 games and should hit the mark tonight against a New Orleans team he dropped seven on in the opening frame earlier this month. Dap the More on Donovan for Wednesday night basketball.
Trae Young (G – ATL): OVER 7.5 assists
The jump from 6.5 assists to 7.5 is a probability killer but still offers enough value due to being an alt line. Ice Trae went bonkers with a season high 19 assists his last time out, so the increase is not unexpected, but there is still a significant difference between 6.5 and 7.5, even where Trae Young is concerned. Trae is averaging 11.6 assists per game and has recorded eight or more assists in 13 of his 14 games played. He is in an excellent position to register at least eight dimes tonight against a Warriors team surrendering 8.6 assists per game to opposing point guards. Tap the More on Trae for Wednesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): OVER 3.5 assists
Sengun has taken a step back this season but is still averaging an impressive 17.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game on .468 shooting. The percentage is career low, so Sengun has an opportunity to bump his points back up in the neighborhood we saw during his breakout campaign last season. The assist numbers have remained stable (5.0 assists per game in 2023-24), and Sengun has dished out at least four assists in 10 of his last 12 games. Outside of his recent four game stretch, there is absolutely no reason for the actual total to be listed at 5.5 instead of 4.5. Take the alt line and slap the More on Sengun for Wednesday night's action.
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
