NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/4/24)

Season record: 193-123

Jalen Green (G – HOU): OVER 7.5 1st quarter points

Jalen bounced back from four consecutive poor first quarters in a row to post eight in the first on Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green went cold in the first three in his slump while taking only three shots in the other. Before that, however, Green was one of the hottest first quarter plays in the league, scoring eight or more first quarter points in five straight and in nine of 12. Ime Udoka will be sure to stress the importance of this matchup to his young star, so expect Green to come out firing in this one. Jab the More on Jalen for Thursday night.

Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): OVER 4.5 1st quarter points

MPJ came out cold against San Antonio in his last game but will look to get things back on track with another hot first quarter tonight. MPJ has poured in five or more first quarter points in 19 of his last 22 games. Look for the young sharpshooter to take advantage of a banged-up Clippers team that is still looking to regain their defensive focus and intensity. Mash the More on MPJ for Thursday night basketball.

Amen Thompson (G/F – HOU): OVER 8.5 rebounds

Amen continues to pound the offensive glass for the Houston Rockets, leading the NBA with 4.5 per contest over the last 10 games. Not bad for a player who was drafted as a point guard. Amen has hauled in nine or more rebounds in five of his last six games and in seven of his last 10. Amen is no stranger to monster rebounding numbers when he's in the starting lineup, but inconsistent minute allocation over his last few lowers the probability. With that said, Amen is an absolute force on the glass and should be as motivated as possible for a contest that could very well decide the Rockets' postseason fate, given their two game slide and the Warriors' five game winning streak. Tap the More on Thompson for what should be an exciting matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
