The NFL is back, so it is time to place our best bets for Week 1 anytime TD scorer.
Like most of you, I am incredibly excited to watch some meaningful NFL games again.
More importantly, now that the 2022 NFL season has arrived, we can start betting on games and placing our favorite Prop Bets.
Every Friday, I will give three to five players who I think have a great chance of getting into the end zone.
We call these “Anytime TD Props.”
Let’s dive in!

Austin Ekeler (+100 DraftKings)
Week 1 is a revenge spot for the Los Angeles Chargers. Like the Buffalo Bills did on Thursday Night, I expect the Chargers to come out on fire and make a statement.
The Chargers and Raiders met in week 18 with the Playoffs on the line; despite a valiant comeback attempt, the Chargers fell short and lost the game in OT.

Austin Ekeler (+100 DraftKings)

The Chargers and Raiders met in week 18 with the Playoffs on the line; despite a valiant comeback attempt, the Chargers fell short and lost the game in OT.
Austin Ekeler has the advantage of playing behind one of the best offensive lines and alongside one of the most athletic QBs in the league. In the two games he faced the Raiders last year, Ekeler rushed for 181 yards and had eight receptions for 63 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2021, Las Vegas gave up the 6th most rushing TDs and 3rd most Receiving TDs to running backs.
Mark Andrews (+105 DraftKings)
Mark Andrews led all tight ends in targets (153), receptions (107), receiving yards (1,361), and touchdowns (9) last season. I don’t think it’s too far off to say that there is a good chance he duplicates that in 2022.
The Baltimore Ravens have something to prove this season after a disappointing 2021 season that was decimated by injuries. Lamar Jackson is returning after an injury-shortened season; he also has something to prove coming into the last year of his contract.
The New York Jets gave up the 6th most receiving touchdowns to tight ends last season.
Adam Thielen (+185 DraftKings)
When it comes to the fantasy world, Adam Thielen is a touchdown-or-bust type of player. He averaged a career-low 10.8 yards per catch last season but did catch 10 touchdowns in 13 games before his ankle injury.
Per Warren Sharp Football Analysis, last season, Thielen turned 53.9% of his red zone targets into touchdowns, the highest rate among all players with double-digit opportunities. On top of that, he caught seven of eight end zone targets for touchdowns, which was a league-leading 87.5% conversion rate.
New Head Coach Kevin O’Connell has said they will be running more than 11 personnel and being more pass-heavy in 2022. That has already shown to be accurate, as Minnesota used 11 personnel on 74.8% of their snaps this preseason after a 42.1% rate in 2021.
JuJu Smith-Schuster (+110 DraftKings)
Anytime you have Patrick Mahomes as your QB, you have a good shot at ending up in the end zone. Juju and Mahomes travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in what looks to be a shootout. This matchup has the highest point total of the week, and we should see some offensive fireworks.
Despite playing through some injuries and lousy QB play the last three seasons in Pittsburgh, Juju has shown signs he can be a #1 WR. In 2018 he hauled in 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns.
Arizona’s defensive backs may be some of the worst in the NFL. Antonio Hamilton, Byron Murphy, and Marco Wilson are below average, and neither Murphy nor Wilson have a coverage grade above 63 per PFF player grades. On top of that, this Cardinals defensive unit gave up a league-leading 27 receiving touchdowns to opposing WRs in 2021.
Now that we have a few players to root for let’s hope we can see some touchdowns!
