Let's kick things off in Florida, where the Jaguars return home after two weeks in England. They'll host the Packers, who come in with a solid 5-2 record. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, FL.
Though the Jags are just 2-5, they've been trending upward after an 0-4 start. I believe the market may undervalue this team, creating a buy-low opportunity for Trevor Lawrence in this matchup. Given that the Packers are likely to lead, the Jaguars should find themselves in passing situations, so I'm betting on Trevor Lawrence to complete more than 21.5 passes.
Green Bay's defense ranks in the middle of the pack for passing metrics. They're 10th in pass completion percentage allowed (63.2%) and 16th in total pass completions allowed this season (144), averaging 20.6 completions per game. The Jaguars' offense leans pass-heavy, throwing on 58.23% of plays (10th in the league). Lawrence has exceeded this total in two of his last three games, and I expect him to do so again in front of his home crowd.
The Chargers are looking to rebound after a disappointing 17-15 road loss to the Cardinals on Monday night, where they settled for five field goals. They'll aim to get back on track at home against the visiting Saints, who have unravelled after a strong start. This matchup starts at 4:05 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.
I expected the Bolts to run all over the Cardinals, but that wasn't the case, as J.K. Dobbins was held to just 40 yards on 14 carries (2.9 YPC). Los Angeles will have another chance against a weak rushing defense, facing a New Orleans team on a five-game losing streak, giving up 30.2 points per game over that stretch.
The Chargers, who run on 49.16% of plays (seventh-most in the league), should find success in this matchup. The Saints rank 31st in run defense, allowing 5.4 yards per carry and 30th in total rushing yards per game (146.7). We know Coach Jim Harbaugh values a physical ground game, and this looks like the ideal spot to impose it against a struggling Saints squad. I'm backing Dobbins to notch 78+ yards for the fourth time in seven games.
All roads lead to a Sunday Night Football showdown in the NFC as the 49ers host the Cowboys under the primetime lights. While these teams are usually NFC powerhouses, both would miss the playoffs if they started today, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash between two teams desperate for a win. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.
The Cowboys are struggling to establish a rushing attack, throwing on 65.63% of their plays-second only to the Seahawks' 66.52% rate. This heavy reliance on the pass has contributed to Dak Prescott's turnover issues; he's already thrown six interceptions, tied for ninth-most in the NFL. Prescott tossed two picks in consecutive games, including a 47-9 blowout loss on October 13. I'm backing him to throw another on SNF.
While San Francisco's defense hasn't been as dominant this season, they remain a top-half unit with eight interceptions, the fifth-most in the league. The Niners blitz at the fourth-lowest rate (18.5%), allowing more defenders to sit back and anticipate Prescott's throws. Prescott is 0-3 in his last three games against the 49ers, with a 3/6 TD/INT ratio and at least one interception in each contest.
