It is one of the more exciting times of the year: the Stanley Cup playoffs. What makes the NHL have such a special playoff run is that sometimes, the best team doesn't always win. We have two games, and we'll look at the best same game parlays for each.
Thursday's Best NHL Same Game Parlays

New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes
- Leg 1: Sebastian Aho Over 2.5 Shots On Goal (-140)
- Leg 2: Hurricanes 60-Minute Moneyline (-166)
- Leg 3: Jake Guentzel Anytime Goal (+165)
The Hurricanes have once again extended this series, this time grabbing a 4-1 win. They had trouble getting through the blue line, and Igor Shesterkin was a brick wall for the first 43 minutes. Then the Canes started to fight for pucks in the neutral zone and get through to the crease in the third period. The one problem they're still having is that they went 0-for-3 on the Power Play.
On the flip side, the Rangers also blanked with the man advantage and it is unlike the Blueshirts to struggle on the Power Play. They need that unit to excel as a below-average team at full strength at 45.98% expected goal share in the playoffs. The blue line also had some miscues last time out, allowing the Canes to get advantages at the net.
In Raleigh, the Canes are a heavy favorite, and with all of that momentum, you have to feel like they can force a decisive Game 7.

Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks
- Leg 1: Zach Hyman Over 3.5 Shots On Goal (-120)
- Leg 2: Over 6.5 Total Goals (+102)
- Leg 3: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal (-105)
This has been the most exciting series of the entire playoffs. These teams have been trading blows each game, and it's tough to predict who will come out on top. The Oilers' offense struggled last night, and this was definitely the best performance by Artur Silovs, as Edmonton did very well at attacking the net but had trouble getting them through. While Vancouver was able to contain most of that lineup, you can't stop Leon Draisaitl, who put up a goal and an assist and now has a playoff-leading 20 points.
Vancouver did a fantastic job at making another comeback late in the game. Down 2-0 going into the third, they would grab two, including the equalizer, with a minute and 41 seconds left. It looked like it was going to overtime until Evan Bouchard played hero again and scored the game-winner with 39 seconds left. Kris Knoblauch made a huge decision and started backup Calvin Pickard in the cage, with Stuart Skinner struggling in this series. He saved 19-of-21 in this game, and we shouldn't be surprised if he gets the start again
