NHL Player Prop Bets

We have 11 total games in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Saturday. We’ll avoid the games with a puck drop of 5:00 p.m. ET or earlier, leaving us with seven contests to choose from. That still leaves us with plenty of parlay opportunities on the evening slate.

Let’s focus on the San Jose Sharks and Florida Panthers locking horns at Amerant Bank Arena at 6 p.m. ET in Sunrise, Florida, while also highlighting the Nashville Predators and Ottawa Senators battle at 7 p.m. ET in Canada’s capital city.

These same-game parlays (SGPs) come with +400 odds or higher.

Below we feature solid NHL same-game parlays for tonight’s matchups, perhaps you can mix and match with college football, an NFL Week 14 matchup, NBA games or games from another full weekend of college basketball.

Let’s get started.

San Jose Sharks at Florida Panthers

The Sharks (10-14-5) take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers (16-9-2) in South Florida.

The Sharks have been surprisingly competitive lately, although San Jose was smacked down 8-1 at Tampa Bay on Thursday in the third stop of a six-game road trip. Despite that blowout loss, San Jose is still a respectable 5-4-2 in their past 11 outings.

The Panthers have won 10 straight meetings with the Sharks dating back to December 1st, 2017 - a 2-1 home loss as Aaron Dell outdueled Roberto Luongo. Neither goaltender plays in the NHL any longer. The under has cashed in three of the past four meetings in South Florida.

In addition to Florida’s dominance in this series, it has picked up the pace against everyone else. The defending champs had a bit of an early-season championship hangover, while November was a month of ups and downs. However, it is 4-0-1 in its past five games, including a pair of home wins in that span by a margin of 11-1 against the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The over is 4-1 in the past five games for the Cats and 4-2 in the past six on home ice against Western Conference foes. For the Sharks, the over is on a 5-1-1 run in the past seven games and 8-2-1 in the previous 11 contests. The over is 4-1-1 in the past six tries against Eastern Conference teams.

Let’s roll with the Panthers on the puck line, while also backing the over. Florida’s Sam Reinhart has 18 goals and 35 points in the past 25 games while posting a +9 rating with 11 power-play points.

Looking at the alternate puck line, taking the Sharks +4.5 makes for an incredible parlay possibility, and it gives us a lot of wiggle room. We need the Sharks to lose by at least two goals, but no more than four goals. That’s a wide spread in hockey.

Parlay Odds: +569

Nashville Predators at Ottawa Senators

The Predators (7-14-6) take on the Senators (11-12-2) on Saturday evening in Canada’s capital city. It’s the final stop of a four-game road trip for the Predators. So far they’re just 0-2-1 in the first three games.

Nashville sunk a lot of money into what it believed would be upgrades, snagging free-agent and former Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos in free agency, while also helping the blueline with offensive defenseman Brady Skjei. The offense hasn’t been better. It has been much worse.

Nashville is averaging just 2.2 goals per game (GPG) to rank dead-last in the NHL, while the power play is operating at a 20% clip, good for 20th in the NHL. While the penalty kill is among the best in the NHL at 87.5%, good for second in the NHL, the team still allows 3.1 GPG to rank 24th.

For the Senators, they doubled up the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 last time out as a moderate favorite (-178) as the under cashed. That under is a rarity lately, as the over had been on a 5-0 run. Ottawa is also an impressive 3-1-1 in the past five games.

This power play will give the Predators penalty kill a challenge. Ottawa ranks seventh on the man advantage at 26.4%, while its overall offensive numbers are just so-so with 3.1 GPG. Defensively, the Sens cough up 3.2 GPG to rank 26th. Their penalty kill struggles at 75.7% - 25th in the league.

We’ll back the Senators on the Moneyline and side with the under based on the struggles of the Predators’ offense lately.

As far as player props, let’s go with Drake Batherson to get at least one point. He has managed two goals and 11 points across the past eight games, including five points on the man advantage.

If you’re feeling adventurous, Brady Tkachuk at the same price for one point isn’t a bad play as an alternate parlay leg. He has four goals and nine points in the past six outings.

Parlay Odds (Legs 1 through 3): +400
*Alternate Parlay Odds (Legs 1 through 4): +591
