Sergei Bobrovsky led the Florida Panthers to a resounding 3-0 win during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night. The Panthers’ star goaltender recorded 32 saves, shutting out Edmonton’s potent offense, and holding firm against all three of their powerplay opportunities.
Game 2 is set for Monday night from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida once again. Carter Verhaeghe gave Florida momentum with the first shot on goal going in against Stuart Skinner, who only recorded 15 saves against 17 shots faced in Game 1.
Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and Evan Bouchard will need to continue bringing pressure in the offensive zone, although Florida recorded triple the number of takeaways and fewer giveaways in Game 1. The Panthers also won 11 more faceoffs, recorded 25 more hits, and six more blocked shots, showcasing their physicality against the Oilers.

Monday's NHL SGP
Leg 1: Connor McDavid 60 Min Player To Record 3+ Shots On Goal (-215)
Edmonton’s star center and captain, Connor McDavid, has been busy in the offensive zone during the Oilers’ playoff run. During Game 1 on Saturday night, McDavid recorded a team-high six shots on goal. We only need three in regulation from McDavid, who will undoubtedly be unloading shots on goal to gain momentum early following Bobrovsky’s 32-save shutout performance in Game 1.
-215 odds is great value for McDavid to record three or more shots on goal in regulation, as he’s done this in four of the past five playoff games.
Leg 2: Under 6.5 Alternate Total Goals (-188)
We’re trying to win this Same Game Parlay, so we’re only adding one more leg to get this SGP to plus odds for Game 2. The alternate total goals betting market is enticing. We saw a 3-0 rout in Game 1, plus each of Edmonton’s last six road games have gone under the total goals line. We’re buying a goal at under 6.5, available at -188 odds. Neither team has been involved in a game with more than six total goals in three consecutive contests, so with Bobrovsky playing lights out, even a 4-2 outing settles our SGP as a win.
Same Game Parlay: +126
We’re going back to basics and sticking with a two-leg Same Game Parlay. First, we’re backing McDavid to record three or more shots on goal in regulation, which he doubled in Game 1. Edmonton will come out firing and McDavid will lead the charge. Next, we’re back on an alternate total goals under, taking under 6.5 like we did for our first SGP.
+126 odds for six or less total goals and three McDavid shots on goal during regulation feels like stealing. This is the perfect SPG to end our slump and wrap up Game 2 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals with a winning wager on Monday night.
