Rangers vs. Panthers: NHL Same Game Parlay (Tuesday)

Sam Reinhart

Game 4 between the New York Rangers vs. Florida Panthers is shaping up to be a great matchup at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida on Tuesday night. The Rangers’ 5-4 overtime win on the road in Game 3 made it their second consecutive win in this Eastern Conference Finals series, with both victories coming in extra time.

We’ve seen some unlikely players step up for New York, as Alexander Wennberg lit the lamp to record the win in Game 3. Alex Lafreniére and Barclay Goodrow also scored two goals a piece in Game 3, alongside Sam Reinhart’s two powerplay goals for the Panthers. Both goaltenders, who looked in top form during Game 1 and Game 2, were throttled in Game 3, so it’ll be interesting to see how many goals occur on Tuesday night in Game 4.

We’re fresh off of a +283 SGP win during Game 3 between the Stars and Oilers on Monday night. This four-leg SGP ended our slump, so we’re going to carry this momentum into Tuesday and construct another plus-odds SGP to tail accordingly during Game 4 between the Rangers and Panthers. Tuesday's NHL SGP

Leg 1: Carter Verhaeghe To Record 2+ Shots on Goal (-670)

We’re heading back to the shots on goal market to target Carter Verhaeghe. We’re being conservative and only taking the Panthers’ first-line winger to record 2+ shots on goal at -670 odds for the first leg of our Same Game Parlay.

Verhaeghe leads Florida and the entire series between both teams with 14 shots on goal through three games. By taking two shots on goal, we’re guaranteeing a strong first leg that will allow us to advance to leg 2. Verhaeghe has recorded five shots, two shots, and seven shots on goal against New York in this series, so this is a good place to start.

Leg 2: Sam Reinhart To Record 3+ Shots on Goal (-235)

We aren’t straying far for leg 2. Sam Reinhart, Verhaeghe’s line mate and the right-winger on the first-line attack and top powerplay unit for the Panthers, is heating up after his two-goal outing in Game 3.

Reinhart scored two powerplay goals against Igor Shesterkin in Game 3 and he’s also sitting with 10 shots on goal entering Game 4. This is more than any Rangers player has recorded, while he’s still four shots behind Verhaeghe. Expect Florida to keep Reinhart heavily involved and encourage aggressive shot-taking in the offensive zone on Tuesday night.

Reinhart has recorded at least three shots on goal in every game played this series against New York, which is why he’s the favorite at -235 odds to record three shots on goal once again during Game 4.

Leg 3: Under 7.5 Alternate Total Goals (-620)

We’re wrapping up our Same Game Parlay by taking an alternate total goals line, wagering under 7.5 total goals scored in Game 4. After the nine-goal explosion in Game 3, it’s only fitting that we’ll see a regression in goals tonight.

Igor Shesterkin and Sergei Bobrovsky are very talented in between the pipes and the under is also set to 5.5, with juice on the under. In fact, the under total goals line has hit in five of Florida’s last six games played. This way, even if the over hits with six or seven total goals, we’re still in the clear by taking -620 odds on under 7.5 total goals.

Remember, Game 1 and Game 2 went 3-0 and 2-1, so don’t expect another 5-4 outcome in Game 4. Especially with the level of physicality that Florida plays with, combined with the talent of each goaltender.

Same Game Parlay: +100

We’re getting even odds at +100 for this three-leg Same Game Parlay ahead of Game 4 between the Rangers and Panthers on Tuesday night. All we’re investing in is the shots on goal betting market for Florida’s top attack line, backing Sam Reinhart for three shots on goal and Carter Verhaeghe for two shots on goal. Then, we’re taking a conservative approach and going under 7.5 total goals scored at -620 odds to get us to +100.

I predict a lower-scoring affair that projects to be much more physical with improved goaltending from both sides. Florida is the more desperate team after losing two in a row, so Verhaeghe and Reinhart should both wind up hitting their shots on goal lines by the end of regulation in Game 4 of the NH Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals.
