In 2022, the Giants gave up the sixth-most rushing yards per game, and they were 31st in the league in yards per carry allowed. Pollard ran for 105 yards in New York last season despite Elliott acquiring more carries. Splitting carries with Zeke in the second meeting, Pollard rushed for 60 yards. Since he will get the Lions' share of touches tonight, we love this over.
The Giants do not have a number-one receiver. Though they have five receivers that expect to be utilized throughout the season, none of them are clear number ones that will leave defenses frightened about their matchup. Each week, this receiving corps is going to be led by a different player, and we don't want to guess who that will be in Week 1.
However, we do expect Barkley to have a solid receiving game in the opener. Last season, Barkley racked up 91 catches for 721 yards, as he proved to be Daniel Jones' favorite safety net. We expect the same this season, and with how the Cowboys’ defensive line can get after the quarterback, Barkley is going to be used a lot in Week 1. His receptions over may be safer, but we're taking the receiving yards instead because the number is so low.
Last season, Jones threw for more than 215 yards in just five games. One of those performances did come against the Cowboys when he threw for 228 yards in the Giants' 28-20 loss.
Jones doesn't light up the stat sheet, and with the Giants' receiving corps one of the weakest in the NFL, it's hard to imagine him having a lot of success tonight against a solid Cowboys' secondary. This number should probably be even lower, so get in on this before it drops.
