Team Gibson vs Dream 34
Team Gibson will look to advance to the second round in their second year in the TBT. Last season they lost to Boeheim’s Army but they’re hoping the experience in this tournament will be enough to make some noise. However, they will be looking to do it with a lack of size. Only one player on the roster is listed as 6’9″ or taller, Malik Anderson out of Lee College, but he’s also listed as a small forward. They’ll hope a combination of effort and athleticism will be enough to battle at the boards like their namesake and coach, Taj Gibson. Dream 34 will be competing for their third year with an all-time record of 1-2. They have some size that could give Team Gibson fits with 7’1″ center George Washington as well as an assortment of lengthy wings. College and NBA fans should recognize PJ Hairston from North Carolina and the Charlotte Hornets. His best days are behind him but he should still be able to get buckets. Dream 34 has an excellent shot to pull off the upset.
