Sunday’s Best MLB Picks & Predictions

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants

Neither lineup has been hitting well over the last week:

    • Giants: .203 batting average with 18 runs in six games
    • Braves: .187 batting average with 15 runs in six games

Against the pitchers taking the mound to start the day, I doubt either lineup will wake up much, if at all. The Braves will send Chris Sale to the bump. He has a 2.14 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. The Giants counter with Robbie Ray and his 3.70 ERA and 1.28 WHIP.

I'd lean Atlanta Moneyline if you want to pick a winner,  but I see the under as the best bet for this game.

    Pick: Under 7.5 Runs (-119)

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres

Emmet Sheehan has not been a great road pitcher this season, going 1-3 in six starts with a 5.58 ERA and .254 opponents’ batting average. He started against the Padres in San Diego on May 19th and got pulled after four innings (five hits, two home runs, four earned runs).

Michael King has been a solid pitcher for the Padres at home, going 3-3 in nine starts with a 2.87 ERA and a .217 opponents’ batting average. He started against the Dodgers at home on May 18th and got the win after seven shutout innings (four hits, two walks, nine strikeouts).

The Dodgers’ lineup blew up last night, but I trust the Padres’ lineup more against Sheehan than the Dodgers versus King.

    Pick: Padres Moneyline (+119)

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

The Yankees’ lineup has been struggling of late, hitting just .189 over the last week with only 17 runs scored across seven games. They've scored five runs in the first three games of this series. Boston has certainly been doing better - a .243 batting average with 30 runs scored over the last week (seven games).

The Red Sox won the last three games by more than three runs and should win this one. With the pitching lineup today - Carlos Rodon (4-2, 3.70 ERA) versus Sonny Gray (9-1, 2.95 ERA) - take Boston on the Moneyline.

    Pick: Boston Moneyline (-120)
