Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels

The Athletics are set to pitch Aaron Civale today. The right-hander has watched his last 22 lefties faced hit a .368 ISO and a wOBA of .576 against him. Those lefties have added a .471 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) with a 27.8% barrel rate. They’ve also hit over 44% of fly balls and nearly 28% of line drives.

Lefties like Wade Meckler and Donovan Walton are solid plays today. Meckler has a .147 ISO and a wOBA of .370 against his last 77 righties, while Walton has contributed a .197 ISO with a wOBA of .416 against righties over the last 30 days.

Meanwhile, Samuel Aldegheri will take the hill for the Angels. He’s struck out just 16.1% of batters over the last month and has added just 14.2% of strikeouts this season. The Athletics have five batters who have struck out no more than 17.5% of the time against lefties in the last month. Take the under on Aldegheri’s strikeouts.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers have penciled in Emmet Sheehan for today’s rivalry matchup against the Padres. Shehan is a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .360 ISO and a wOBA of .474 to his last 31 righties faced.

That should work out well for righties like Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. Tatis has a .160 ISO and a wOBA of .366 against his last 86 righties. On the other hand, Machado has a .250 ISO and a wOBA of .311 against his last 77 righties faced.

Conversely, Michael King is slated to pitch for the Padres. He’s earned just 11.8% of strikeouts over the last month and will take on a Dodgers squad that has six batters who have struck out no more than 23.2% of the time against righties. There won’t be many targets for King with strikeouts. We’ll take his under to close out this parlay.
