    Houston Astros (+104) at Baltimore Orioles (-122) | O/U 9.0 (-105/-115

The Astros (11-19) and the Orioles (14-15) meet at Camden Yards in Baltimore in a battle between two teams under .500. Baltimore inched closer to getting back to level with a 5-3 win in the series opener on Tuesday as moderate favorites, as the under cashed.

The O’s fired out of the box with two runs in the bottom of the first, and they took a 4-1 lead after five innings when Pete Alonso reached the seats for the fifth time with a two-run homer off of Ryan Weiss. Adley Rutschman also drove in two runs, while Baltimore’s pitchers recorded a total of 12 strikeouts.

Houston has really struggled this season, particularly on the road, where it is just 3-11 this season. And, while manager Joe Espada was recently given a vote of confidence from general manager Dana Brown, he likely is running out of time.

The Orioles are 8-8 at home, but righty Chris Bassitt is on the bump today. He is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 2.06 WHIP this season. On the flip side, righty Peter Lambert has been a bright spot for the Astros, going 1-1 with a 3.27 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in two starts, including a quality start last time out in Cleveland, twirling six scoreless frames. He also has eight strikeouts in each of his two starts.

Let’s side with the Astros on the Moneyline, while going low on the total.

    Picks: Astros Moneyline (+104) & Under 9.0 Runs (-115)

    Washington Nationals (+138) at New York Mets (-164) | O/U 7.5 (-122/+100

The Nationals (13-17) and the disappointing Mets (10-19) meet at Citi Field in Queens on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. ET.

Nationals right-handed pitcher Cade Cavalli (0-1, 4.01 ERA, 1.66 WHIP) will go up against Mets lefty David Peterson (0-3, 5.06 ERA, 1.65 WHIP), who has been an absolute disaster this season. Washington is a respectable 7-4 against southpaws this season, while New York is just 9-13 versus righties.

Cavalli has allowed just three earned runs and zero walks in his past two starts, and he has recorded 15 strikeouts across nine innings in those outings. If you’re interested in pitcher props, you might want to aim for Cavalli’s strikeout total. He hasn’t allowed a home run in 24.2 innings, so avoid any Mets players for anytime home runs props, although you likely weren’t running to bet on New York players due to their struggles.

New York did win the series opener 8-0 behind righty Clay Holmes, snapping a three-game skid. The Mets had just four total runs in the previous three outings. Despite that impressive win, the pitching matchup is not in New York’s favor.

The Mets are 0-3 in Peterson’s past three starts, and the under is 3-0-1 in the past four games for New York. Let’s take the Nationals, and let’s side with the over due to the struggles of Peterson. The under is 2-1-1 in the past four games for Washington, and 4-2-1 in its past seven road contests. However, the total is just too low with Cavalli and Peterson on the hill for their respective teams.

    Picks: Nationals Moneyline (+138) & Over 7.5 Runs (-122)

    Arizona Diamondbacks (-102) at Milwaukee Brewers (-116) | O/U 8.5 (-110/-110

The Diamondbacks (15-13) and Brewers (15-13) have identical records thanks to a 13-2 victory by Milwaukee at American Family Field on Tuesday night, as the over easily cashed. The Brewers had seven different players drive in at least one run, including Tyler Black going 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run. Sal Frelick ended up 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBI, while tapping the plate three times.

Arizona has dropped three of the past four games, and five of the past seven outings, while the over has cashed in five of those seven contests. Milwaukee has won back-to-back games after a four-game skid, and the Brewers are a respectable 7-5 in the past 12 games, while alternating the over and under in each of the past seven games.

Lefty Eduardo Rodriguez (2-0, 2.89 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) looks to turn around Arizona’s fortunes, while Milwaukee turns to righty Brandon Sproat (0-1, 6.45 ERA, 1.57 WHIP). The Brewers are 4-3 in seven tries against southpaws this season. Rodriguez has really pitched well, but Sproat hasn’t.

The pitching matchup and the fact that Arizona is the underdog make the Diamondbacks on the Moneyline an easy pick. And let’s go high on the total based on Sproat’s giving ways.

    Picks: Diamondbacks Moneyline (-102) & Over 8.5 Runs (-110)
