We have a seven-game slate on tap for today. Three games will tip-off in the afternoon, and then we’ll get four more at night — including what should be a heated contest between the Hawks and Warriors.
Here are the top NBA betting plays for Sunday, April 4, provided by BettingPros experts Raju Byfield and Isaiah Sirois (Main game odds courtesy BettingPros Consensus; lock and prop odds sites may vary):
Betting Lock of the Day
Sirois: Hawks -0.5 (-110 at FD Sportsbook)
The math points to a bunch of value on Atlanta tonight. My efficiency-based model expects Atlanta to win by a 5.7-point margin, while FiveThirtyEight’s model projects them to win by 5.5 points — yet sportsbooks have the Hawks as mere half-point favorites. Atlanta has already confirmed that Trae Young will return to the lineup tonight, so if his status was holding you back, fear no longer. The math points to so much edge here that I’d recommend buying early in case the line moves.
Top Team Prop of the Day
Sirois: Nuggets First Quarter -5.5 (-105 at FD Sportsbook)
This first-quarter spread has been set quite aggressively. However, there is value here nonetheless. The Nuggets score the second-most points per first quarter (31.1), while the Magic score the second-fewest (25.6). Over their last three games, they have scored 13 (LAC), 27 (NOR), and 20 (UTA) first-quarter points, respectively. The Nuggets have stifled opponents for the sixth-fewest points allowed per first quarter (27.2), too, which ranks them right around the Clippers and Jazz — two teams that have covered this first-quarter spread against the Magic since the trade deadline.
Top Player Prop of the Day
Sirois: Danuel House Over 14.5 Points and Rebounds (-111 at FD Sportsbook)
With the current state of Houston’s lineup, House has seen his minutes and usage rate increase. House has played in eight games since the All-Star Break, and he has averaged 10.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game through that span (14.9 total). He has only gone over four times, but two of those misses came by just one point or rebound. He’ll take on the banged-up Pelicans tonight, and they give up the fourth-most points per game. While they have also allowed the NBA’s fewest total rebounds to their opponents per game, they rank ninth-worst over their last three outings due to their banged-up roster.
