Bryson DeChambeau is positioned to win his second U.S. Open major on Sunday. Pinehurst No. 2 has been difficult to conquer, but DeChambeau’s powerful driver, precise irons, and smooth putting have all blended nicely to get him under par in all three rounds thus far.
Matthieu Pavon, Rory McIlroy, and Patrick Cantlay are all three strokes behind DeChambeau at T2 on the leaderboard. McIlroy offers the best upside to make a run and contend with DeChambeau, however, he’ll need to eliminate miscues, as he wound up only 1-under-par in Round 3, despite recording four birdies.

Rory McIlroy Number of Birdies or Better in Round 4
We’re heading to the Birdies or Better betting market for both of our picks in this article. Starting with Rory McIlroy’s prop, which is set to O/U 3.5 birdies in Round 4, we’re backing Northern Ireland’s star golfer to record at least four birdies for the third time at Pinehurst No. 2 on Sunday.
McIlroy went bogey-free with five birdies in Round 1, before regressing with one birdie and three bogeys in Round 2. On Saturday during Round 3, McIlroy bounced back with four birdies recorded, although two bogeys on the final four holes kept him from sitting one back from DeChambeau.
He’s made 10 birdies this week, including at least four twice, so at +125 odds, we’re staking a unit on McIlroy to continue playing well and attempting a run at the outright win in Round 4.

Patrick Cantlay Number of Birdies or Better in Round 4
Patrick Cantlay will be paired with McIlroy on Sunday and oddsmakers at FanDuel have set his birdies or better line to 2.5. We’re getting +125 odds on under 2.5 birdies, which we saw Cantlay hit for the first time in Round 3 on Saturday.
Cantlay’s six birdies in Round 1 and three birdies in Round 2 certainly make this a bit of a risky wager, however, he’s only hitting fairways at a 62 percent clip this week, which is T54 amongst the field. He’s been able to find greens in regulation at a 61 percent rate, which is T15 in the field, while using his putter to his advantage, gaining 1.73 strokes with the flat stick, good enough for T8.
Still, the inability to find fairways, plus the added pressure of contending with McIlroy on Sunday, means we could see Cantlay fold. Cantlay hasn’t played great in the final round for the majority of the season, so at +125 odds for under 2.5 birdies, a one-unit wager is recommended.
