U.S. Open Sunday Head-to-Head Odds & Picks: Billy Horschel vs. Patrick Rodgers (Round 4)

We are 18 holes away from crowning our third major champion of the year, and we should see a very exciting finish at Los Angeles Country Club today. A resurgent Rickie Fowler sits tied atop the leaderboard at -10 with last month’s Wells Fargo Championship winner Wyndham Clark. 2011 U.S. Open Champion Rory McIlroy sits just one shot back, while world number one Scottie Scheffler is lurking three back.

We should see similar conditions to yesterday, with the exception of the pressure being cranked up tenfold as the leaders make their way around the inward nine. Who will seize the moment and hoist the trophy? Will McIlroy add another major to his resume, or will we see a first time major champion emerge from the Sunday afternoon fire? One thing is for certain, father’s all around the country, and the world are going to enjoy finding out this afternoon. Let’s get to the picks.

Billy Horschel over Patrick Rodgers (+105)

The University of Florida product came through for us yesterday, so we are going back to the well with Billy Horschel again today. The 36 year-old hit 11 of 13 fairways Saturday, and gained +0.49 strokes putting. Rodgers also hit most of his fairways (10 for 13) in the third round on his way to a one-over 71. On Thursday, the Stanford University product hit a paltry five fairways but was saved by his putter. We may see another similar performance like that today. The steadier golfer is Horschel and getting him at a plus number is a bonus.
